  1. One thing that really helps is to follow up weekly with your insurance. I had another kind of surgery 6 years ago that I had to jump through hoops to get approved. The first time my ins co said they did not get the paperwork. The approved me on the day they got the second set. I would not have known about the "missing" file if I had not called. Be proactive and follow-up. It normally sits on someone's desk for 29 days until the end of the 30 days anyway.
