  1. I had my first fill 6/12/07 and was about to call to try to get another soon. After reading your post I think I will wait a little longer and see what happens/ -ken
  2. Expect good things to come in the future. It helped me to get over being nervous by watching a surgery on the internet, but that may not be the thing for you. I also read the info packets several times. -ken
  3. The first protien mix I drank was soy I think I got it at GNC...I like chocolate. I mixed it in a blender with water and ice, the colder the better for me. The second container I bought tasted so bad I couldn't drink it, no matter how cold it was. It was the same brand, I don't know if the product was mixed differently or my taste buds have changed. I now drink Whey protien from a vitamin store it's sweeter and has no after taste. I also started buying protien bars form Wal-Mart about 4 weeks after surgery. I eat them slowly and limit myself to no more than one a day. It helps because I am not always able to eat when it's time. They have about 20 grams of protien in them. -ken
  4. I wasn't nervous, I was excited like you and ready to get started. I didn't have much gas pain at all. I was sore the first three or four days. I wasn't told to go on the liquid diet, but I did cut back and lost 4 pounds before surgery. I followed the Doc's orders when I was released. The first day home was an adjustment in the way I sat down and got up due being sore. I am self employed, so I felt compelled to go to work right away. I think if I worked for someone else I may have taken at least one day off. I took some liquid pain meds the first and second day I was home, that was all I needed. I feel I was lucky and was in good hands, everything went off without any problems. Are you getting the surgery in the U. S.? I had mine done close to Beaumont, Texas, (SE Texas) about 30 min. from home. Having the fill was surprisingly easy. My band will hold 10 cc's the Doc put in 3 cc's. I fell no restriction. About 2weeks after surgery I could't eat much at one time and lost weight fast. I guess may be a little impatient. Hope everything goes well for you! I have no regrets! -ken
  5. I started looking on this site about 3 weeks before I was banded. It has been very helpful in answering questions I had concerns about. I weighed 320 at my first visit and about 316 at surgery on 5/11/07. The surgery wasn't too rough, I went home the next day and returned to work 5/14/07. After liquid diet the first week, then liquid and soft foods the next week. The 3rd week I was able to have a larger variety of foods. I had my first fill 6/12/07. I weighed 296 then. After the fill I have not been able to tell any difference, so I have to be pay close attention or I will eat to much. I thought I would be more restricted after the fill. I have to go back in 4 weeks. I am afraid I won't lose if I don't get another fill sooner. -ken
