  1. Oh CJ I feel so bad for you. I am just contemplating surgery so I'm glad you are sharing, but I pray things start to get better for you. I must tell you that I don't know what you do for a living, but you should consider writing. While I couldn't help but feel bad for you. I could still see your sense of humour through your pain. Again I hope things start to look up for you very soon, keep us updated.

    Novice Question.

What kind of exercise will I be able to do post op? I am fairly sedentary but do enjoy walking. What I am wondering is won't there be considerable weakness with such a restrictive diet and limits on hydration? Can anyone enlighten me?

    Novice Question.

Hey Lissa Thanks for the info. I joined my fitness pal a couple of days ago. I am not even to the point of knowing whether or not I'm a good candidate for the sleeve. I go to my 1st info session in early July. The info I have at this point stated that I should start now to work on food choices and exercise. I've started walking 1.5 miles, but at a very modest pace. So I was really curios about post op. you've been a big help. You're dedication is inspiring.

    Greetings Everyone

Dooter When I asked if I could pay to move up the list, I was told they don't do that here. So I would have had to go to the US or Mexico. Since this is all part of my decision making process, I opted to stay put, research (try other weight loss programs,etc...) and wait. I think the wait has done me good as I'm still not 100 percent sure what I'm going to do. This forum is great as it discusses many of the grey area issues that I've bee fretting over. Thanks for your interest.
  5. Am at the very beginning of my gasteric sleeve journey. I have been on a wait list since 2009 and finally got my phone call about a month ago. So begins the process to see if I am a good candidate for this surgery. I have my first appontment in early July. Until then I look forward to reading your posts to broaden my knowledge level on the subject. Good health to all.

Tks, PS you have a beautiful family.
  7. You are so right about size is not the only issue. I am on the tall side and have been told al my life that I carry it well, and I dont't have to worry. But that was then and now I am sitting with a BMI of 40 plus. People still say I don't need such a drastic change. For me the decision came when I was taking my dog for a walk an I slipped and fell. Luckily nothing but my pride was hurt, but it took me about 15 minutes to crawl back to my car so I could pull myself up. Thank goodness nobody was around. But it had come down to simple physics, I could no longer support mt weight from that vantage point. To me that was such a wake up call, and no matter what anyone else thinks I am going to research this as a possible option.

Hi back. I live in Cape Breton, Canada. If I am approved our healthcare system covers my costs. It's a great thing, but the waiting list is long.
