  1. They CAN cause polyps and did in my case. No symptoms at all, just found out by doing the dreaded endoscopy...lol. I should tell you that I've had heartburn FOREVER, since my first pregnancy and she just turned 19. Lots of medicine for a looooonnnggg time.
  2. ooooooooohhhh...good question!!! I also had it with my pregnancies, and it left right away after delivery. Now I just have it (pain)very occasionally. But I do wake up everyday with numbness. I know a few people who've had the surgery and said it was the best thing they ever did...
  3. Proton pump inhibitors-in my case Prevacid, Prilosec, etc.
  4. Good to know-I need to check on this. I also have to have my hiatal hernia repaired during surgery. My surgeon told me personally that he checks every single patient for hernias during surgery . I also had 25 (now only 12 or 13) polyps from talking PPI's for years....all the rest of my polyps need to be removed before my VGS....
  5. heres hoping you feel well enough to want to ....
  6. I discovered that I have 25 polyps in my stomach and a hiatal hernia (which I've suspected for a while. I had half of them removed and go back in 4 weeks to have the rest removed...so far thats all, thank goodness.
  7. I think this may be my biggest fear....tranferring my addiction to food over to alchohol.
  8. I wish I had said that on Friday morning when I had 3 personal trainers telling me not to have the surgery...ugh. I get it! But I'm having the sugery for me, not you!
  9. I love my Wellbutrin-I had no weight gain with it....
  10. I'm in the St. Louis area-working with Dr. Darin Minkin at My New Self in Des Peres Hospital.....no surgery date yet. Still working all my steps first...
  11. you look great-love that smile...(and your new dress!)
  12. Hi everyone-I am new to the site. I am a patient of Dr. Minkin's, hopefully having my surgery done in September. I am halfway thru my 3 months of Dr. supervised weight loss. I have met with the surgeon. He seems great. Anybody else here have Minkin?
