I am still drinking the protein shakes which give me an enormous amount of gas. I am not sure if I am allowed to take gas x but will check and start walking further as you advised. Thanks so much....The pain is unbearable.

I am 2 weeks post op and every time I eat (swallow) I get an extremely sharp pain on the left side of my chest that lasts about a half hour. Has anyone else experienced this? I mentioned it to my surgeon and he said he has never gotten this complaint from other patients and maybe its trapped air under my diaphragm. Its driving me crazy and making me scared to eat anything. I also read on the internet that it could be a muscle spasm which is nothing to worry about but there is nothing that can be done about it. All I know is that it started with my surgery. I just read on the internet that it could be esophogeal spasm. I wonder if I should go back to my surgeon or my primary care physician.
