  1. Do you see Lisa for nutrition?
  2. I did more than 6 months. But that was because of me wanting to think more and because of my adrenal tumor. Did u go to the cardiologist and all the other specialists?
  3. When I started with Dr B they would give surgery dates out ahead of time. They changed that because sometimes things would back up. I didn't really lose any weight when I started the process. I was 270 at the first apt and 265 the day of surgery. I started in aug 2011. In December I didn't know if I really wanted to have the surgery. So I missed some apts. in February I decided I need to do it for myself and my kids! I should of had the surgery the first week of June last week of may but they found the tumor. Only delay was finding an endo to clear me that took husky. Had surgery aug 14 2012. Best thing I have ever done!!! I feel great!! Once Kelly told me they submitted to the insurance I waited a week and called husky myself. They told me I was approved for the 14th. I then called Michelle and she told me they put a ghost date in and to start my diet.
  4. Yes he is my surgeon also! Love him!! I was sleeved aug 14th and I am down 60lbs now. When I finish nursing school in October he is also going to remove my adrenal gland because I have a non cancerous tumor. He is wonderful!!! The brought me into the OR at 730am and he called my mom at 9am to tell her I was fine! I had no issues and started school full time 2 weeks later
  5. Are you seeing Dr Benbraham at midstate?
  6. I am 2 months post op with a paraguard...I heard it can move with rapid weight loss...this totally scares me!
  7. I have pcos, started getting hair on my chin after my first child. I gained 60lbs with her. She is 14 now. I never lost the weight and just gained more. The hair on my chin was bad...I needed to pluck or wax every day. I was sleeved on aug 14th. Since my pre-op diet (aug 9th) I have lost 33lbs. The hair isn't growing like it was!!!!! I only have to pluck 3 times a week!!!!! Has this happened to anyone else?
  8. I swallow .5 Xanax. Started taking them 3 days post op. I do not take every day but when I need one I take it, my doctor said it was fine
  9. They gave me coffee in the hospital. I am almost 3 weeks post-op and I have a cup every other day now
  10. After 7 or 8 days I was able to sleep on my tummy. Tomorrow I will be 2 weeks post op
  11. I am using the stage 1 chicken and turkey babyfood. Warmed with a little salt and pepper...it was really yummy
  12. My BMI was 40, I had no doubt because in my mind I figured the doctor wouldnt waste time on somebody that would not get approved. I started the process last aug, had a few stalls (personal and health) Last aug my only issue was being obese. Then we found out I had sleep apnea with in a month. I took time off to deal with the personal stuff. Got the ball rolling and they found out I had a problem with my adernal gland. Should of been sleeved the end of may but needed clearence from an endo. Only 2 in the state take husky (Yale and Uconn health) Uconn got me in right away. Once she cleared me my surgeons office submitted everything. I actually called the insurance company on the 7th and they said yes approved for the 14th! I guess the surgeon has to put a ghost date in and if it was still available it would be my date :-)
  13. Congrats!!! Where in CT are you?
  14. I was alone, got dropped off 6am last Tuesday and picked up Thursday afternoon. I enjoyed being alone, the doctor called my mom when I was done and when I got to the floor the nurse called to update.
  15. Why nothing red? I was sleeved on Tuesday and was given red jello for breakfast Thursday in the hospital. I have also been drinking red crystal light. I can't find anything in my paper work that says to stay way from red
  16. Tomorrow is my day also!! I have to be there at 6am!!! I am very nervous but I know it will be worth it!!!
  17. I everyone! I have been lurking around for months and just wanted to say hello! This is a very supportive group and I hope to post more! I will be sleeved on Tuesday! I started this process last August took some time to think about it in November got back on track then found out that I had a tumor on my adernal gland. Tumor is not cancerous and will be removed next year after I lose weight. I am alittle nervous but I know it will be worth it in the end!!!
