NSV!! I fit in the chair!

Awesome NSV!!! I have had the same issue in our conference room in the past. I always try and get there early to get a comfortable one. I have not been in there for a year now so I don't know if the chairs with arms are still uncomfortable or not, but I hope they aren't I might just need to sneak in try them out. Way to GO!!!!!!

    What is your height?

I'm 6' foot even. I am lucky I am big framed!! When I had to tell my mom (she did sleep study) how heavy I was - 426 she was floored she thought 350 or so but I have always been told I carry my weight well. I was banded 6-20-05 I have lost 75 pounds in a year - I think I will be happy at 220 - 230 but dr says he would like 180 - 190 so we will see. I just want to be under 300 and then worry about the rest.
  3. The other day I hopped in the cruizer and grabbed my seatbelt and put it on , about half a mile from the house it hit me - I was not using my seatbelt extention. It was on the passanger seat where I sat last night!!! It just hit me that I was not being choked and I had room to move around and stuff...Totally amazing:clap2:

I have a crazy question for you!

If I remember right the insurance was billed about 25,000 - which they only paid % of due to the hospital and surgeon I used are in-network. My surgeon billed the insurance 8000 and was paid 2300 since he was in network. I ended up with 3500 plus another 1000 out of pocket due to above area charge on out of network assistant and sleep study. Hey 4500 for a healthier me is an awesome deal!!!
  5. Help my doctor - not band doctor pres. 300mg of clindomysin - antibotic - does not come in liquid form the pharmacy tells me then can't make into liquid like thay can others. I have been breaking the capsules into grape juice and taking like a straight shot - Major juck - almost gag it back up, chace it with small amount of sugar and water. Total upsets my stomach!! Any suggestions - we tried pudding - major major yuck. - no way and I can't have apples - ie apple sauce. Please any suggetions - i guess it doesn't come in caplet for so I could cut it down. I am so tight in the am I really need to have it liquid or puree form. Please help with suggetions. :help:
  6. We will try the water softening technique. If that doesn't work I will do the yogurt smoothie technique. We are switching to 150 mg capsules from the 300 mg capsules to make the pill smaller and hopefully easier to swallow
  7. We always do liquid but this antibiotic is not suitable for liquid - it is capsule or nothing. My Dr and pharmacist both are great about the liquid but they really want me on this certain antibiotic.
  8. It only comes in capsule form - 150 mg and 300 mg no caplet or anything not even liquid - We tried the Dr. and I

    percentages of weightloss

I have to lose right around 176 pounds, and maybe more we might just head to 200 instead of 250 it just depends on how I feel. I started at 426 and I am now 360 in 10 months and I am still losing. I want the other 34 pounds off by June but we will see. Everyday is a learning process. I eat less then I ever had and I eat healthier (most of the time) but if I do want sweets I eat less then I use to I eat less carbs also. I have a 2 year plan and a 3 year plan. June 2007 I want to be at 250 and I am finally doing more exercise so I plan on it happening. If you want quick weight loss - the band is not the way to go, but it your willing to take the time and make the changes the band requires then it is the best weight loss tool available in my opinion!!

    A new NSV for me!

Way to go Susan!! I know how I felt to finally be able to buy jeans again at Lane Bryant!! I had my own NSV on Saturday - went to a high school rodeo and my boyfriend went to get me some water and I turned to chat with the person sitting next to me and out of the blue I just flopped the ol leg over the other one and actually draped the one on top and not just the ankle resting on the knee. brent came back and asked me what was wrong - I said nothing but was so amazed - It felt awesome..
  11. I was wondering about the progress of bandsters that are 8 to 12 months since surgery...What level of fill are you at? How much have you lost? What do you eat in a day? How much do you exercise? I had surgery 10 months ago. I have lost 62 pounds since surgery date, and 70 since preop. I will admit I do very little exercise, and I have 2.5 cc in my 4 cc band. I eat Break = 6 oz, yogurt, snack = 3 oz beef jerky, lunch = 1 1/2 cups chicken salad, snack = 1/4 cup cashews, dinner = 5 oz, pork cutlet, 1 cup salad, 1/2 cup mashed potatoes. Before now I have struggled with carbs & sweets so I am trying to cut them down starting this week. It's hard. I just want know how others are progressing at during this time frame:biggrin1:
  12. :help: :help: - I am really struggling on the carb cravings - cookies, candy, chips, potatoes. I need some suggestions. I am trying to eat more protein this week but I still want carbs, and if i eat just 1 bite I want more and more and more. I have good restriction but as we know cookies, chips and most candy just goes on through. Please help!!!!

    Starting today

I think I need to write down my daily thoughts on the band. over the last month I have had some medical issues that I am allowing to not eat right. I want to get back on track. I have lost 67 pounds with the band (June 2005) I want another 33 off by June '06 but I am having some struggles. I am tight in the am but loose in the evenings I really don't want another fill but maybe I need it. I think I need to stop eating crap like cookies and sugary stuff, but I crave it. Even when i eat protein - cottage cheese or something I am still hungry!!! Today I have done well but I did eat 4 peanut butter sandwich cookies....I can just kick myself:angry Hopefully lunch will be better. No more crap today and I need to walk tonight!! Jacqie

  15. I was at support group on Tuesday and a few people had mentioned being on LBT so I was wonder who on here are in Idaho. Jacqie
  16. A few of us in the Boise, Idaho area was wondering how many people would like to have a peer support group in Boise once a month on a Saturday morning? There is a meeting @ St. Al's the 2nd Tuesday of each month and IdahoBandsters meet the second Thursday of each month. A few of us feel we might need more peer support other then St. Al's meeting. We are just testing the waters and seeing if it would be helpful or something more would like. It would be peer ran, and we just can meet and chat and hopefully make some life long band friends - we are all in this together!! Let me know...
  17. Get thread!! My highest was 426 surgery weight was 418 as of Tuesday I was 367. I am 6 foot tall and large framed!!. I hope to be 230 250 at the end. I was 190 in 7th grade and 5 foot 10, Since that weight I can't really remember a weight I just got fatter and fatter. My new big goal is 325 by June - hopefully I can hit it. I ma trying now to recommit to myself and my band. I have been yo-yoing lately. It is a struggle with thinking you have hundreds of pounds to lose. I am going to think in 10 pound mini goals. well off to see my dr for my monthly followup hopefully I have lost the 6 I gained last month!!!
  18. My mom runs a sleep lab in Oregon - She did my study for me. I was a pain but she's my mom. I didn't think I would sleep either but I do ok and all you need to do is relax. Listen to your tech. get comfortable and go to sleep. They had a regular queen size bed with nice bedding so I think that made it better it was not like a regular hospital room. I did have the 2 pronged thing under my nose and it did bother me a bit at first then she adjusted it and I was fine. Lots of wires and lots stuff but nothing to bad.
  19. Hi ~ I was banded on June 20th 2005 my weight at that time was 418. My highest that I know of was 426 about 6 months earlier. I have only dropped 51 pounds since surgery and have been kind of in a funk. I was wondering if anyone else was as high as I was at their starting weight and how they are doing? I need something to kick me in the rear and get going. I have 2.3 in my band I have an appt on Friday and I think I will ask for .2 more and see if that helps. I total crave carb stuff - chips, crackers and ice cream, I am totally struggling on this right now. I want another 40 off by June but the rate I am going it is not going to happen. Please give me so insight. I know I have made bad bad food choices and I don't exercise much but heck I can't even get in enough water. I have stopped taking my protein shake (550 calories) and am working on trying to get my protein from food food. Had a southbeach cereal bar for breakfast and will hit a cup of cottage cheese @ 10 and then protein @ lunch and dinner. Jacqie 426/418/367/250ish 06/20/05 Dr. Brian Anderson - Boise
  20. I'm all for it! - My protein shake was Muscle Milk made with 1% milk - alot of calories so I am cutting it out and trying other forms to get 60 to 80 grams of protein.

    Slow Losers - Unite!

Can I be in your club - Banded June 20 2005 and have lost 51 pounds since being banded - actually I should be the yo-yo queen. I bet in the last month or 2 I have lost and gained the same 8 to 10 pounds!!! I know my problems but I just can't seem to get through them - Poor no bad food choices and very little exercise. I go and go and go. I live in a small rural town so it's either walking or not much else. No that is an excuse I have a small gym right across the street from where I work - It is owned by my company - nothing to fancy weights and treadmill and a stepper eliptic edge thing but heck when I leave work I just drive on by. I just can't get there always something else after work I want or need to do so I do it instead. I have an appt with band dr on Friday and I have lost the 6 pounds I had gained at my last appt but I wanted more!!! I want 100 off by June 20th 2006 I need help!! Jacqie 418/367/250ish hopefully one day
