  1. I did my consult on March 29 with Dr. Washington but it was really fast. We didn't discuss the sleep apnea test and I didn't think to brin it up really because I never thought I had a problem but today I woke myself out of my sleep coz I was snoring so loud lol
  2. I'm so excited for you Dani! I will pray that everything goes smooth for you. Did they say you were going to get a sleep study done? I'm wondering how important it is to get done. I never thought I had sleep apnea but what if I have it and don't know it? The questions my pcp asks me are very generic to determine if I may have it or not.
  3. Hi all I started a thread in the general forum for us titled dr Morris washingtons crew

  5. Hi All, For those of us having the surgery in South Carolina's Coastal Bariatric with Dr.Morris Washington, I thought we could start a thread over here in the general topics forum so we can keep in touch. My surgery is July 11
  6. Hey girls Was wondering if someone wanted to start a forum for us in the general area that we can stay updated with each other on?
  7. Lol I know Dani. I splurged a little because I also wanted to use this opportunity to take my parents on vacation because they need to get away and they have been through a lot lately so this will be like a little getaway for them. I don't know how relaxing it will be for them since I will be having surgery but hey at least they will be somewhere nice and near the beach.
  8. ResortQuest is in myrtle beach. I couldn't find anything that had suites in Conway. I will be traveling with my parents and my 3 yr old so I have to get a 2 bedroom suite and I didn't want to have two separate rooms. It was about $3600 for the two weeks but I thought it was worth it.
  9. @meredith that would be awesome if you got the 7/18 date. We will run into each other then. Where are you all going to stay? I will be staying at ResortQuest for the two weeks I am there.
  10. @futureskinnypants I think I am going to do Medifast since I've had those shakes before and they are pretty good. I'm just nervous about if I can make it 2 weeks with nothing but liquid but I've come this far. I am so excited!! I've waited so long for this. Do you know what shakes you're going to get?
  11. Kelli my question might be the dumb one but here goes....... How do they take the stomach out? The incisions are small aren't they so how will the stomach fit through? Or will they break it down inside then squeeze them through the incisions?
  12. Yay!!! My surgery with Dr. Washington is July 11 and thankfully I got the $8000 price. I had my consultation with him on March 29th. It went pretty fast because I had already been through consultations elsewhere only to find out the price for self pay was way out of my budget. The staff is great. Lauren and Sabrina are both extremely nice. My only issue right now is that it is so far away for me so I'm trying to start working out and reduce my carbs so that by surgery date I don't have a lot of extra weight to worry about. Feel free to stay in contact with me. Mocha has been really helpful to me too since she had the surgery there as well.
  13. Thanks so much everybody! I like the idea of trying protein shakes. I'm just so nervous and anxious and excited for the surgery. Thanks again
  14. Thanks for the responses! I am self pay and I am traveling to SC for the surgery so I'm pretty much by myself. I do have phentermine and was going to take them just to give me some sort of help but I thought that it was not good to take with an upcoming surgery but since my surgery is so far down the line, I wonder if it would be okay to take the pills for a month at least. I have my first phone consultation with the surgeon on the 29th so I will ask him then. In the meantime i can already tell low carb is going to fail too. My stomach just never feels satisfied!!! I never get full!! Is this normal!????
  15. When I started this journey and finally set a surgery date I was 265 lbs. Today I weighed myself and I'm 279. I'm so depressed. My surgery isn't till July 11. I started low carb today and I hope I make it to a low carb lunch. I tried low fat yesterday and didn't make it. I feel like my stomach is a bottomless pit. I can't wait for this surgery!!!! Any advice?
  16. Hey there! Where are you having the surgery done PEvette?
  17. I was wondering if anyone else had surgery in July
  18. Thanks for the reply ladies! FDWife-are you out of state from SC? If you are how will you prepare for the possibility of a complication? I'm in VA so im scared a complication will happen and I have to fly back out to SC. I don't mind doing that but what if it's urgent and I end up going here and having to pay hundreds of thousands in hospital fees?
  19. Im upset today. The office where I wanted to get the sleeve done in VA said t is actually $23000 and not $17700 which I originally thought. I'm considering coastal Bariatrics in SC with DR. Morris Washigton because its the next closest ad cheapest place for me. If anyone has done the sleeve here can you please give me as much detail as possible of what your experience was like. Thanks
  20. I saw on Dr.Oz that Black Currant Oil pills are really good for thinning hair.
  21. My sex drive is through the roof right now and I haven't had the surgery yet. I can only imagine what it's gonna be like after I start losing weight.......I may need to tag along with you to the bunny ranch....wait..do they have male bunnies there?
  22. ....will ask me what kind of surgery I'm having and I don't want to tell him because he's annoying and he's judgmental. Any ideas of what kind of surgery I should tell him I'm having? I was thinking I would say gall bladder removal but then I researched recovery time and I think it's too short. Also for anyone in HR do I have to tell HR? Thanks all!!
  23. Thanx for the responses! May I also ask how much you invested in yourself? My surgery will be around $19000 including blis insurance
  24. How much time did it take from the moment you decided you were going to get sleeved to the time you actually had the surgery? Thanks
  25. Hello Everybody, I am going to be getting the sleeve within the next couple of months hopefully. Fortunatley I dont have to jump through insurance hoops because I will be self pay. I wanted to know if there is anyone out there (youre all inspirational) who has done a complete body transformation after the surgery. Either by working out or additional cosmetic surgeries. Has anyone sculpted their body to look exactly like they wanted it to? If so, can I see pictures. Its my dream and hope to be able to transform my body completley after the surgery. Thanks!
