  1. With all the warnings about facebook lately I will just stick with this and one other forum.
  2. That's my date too. Which Dr. and where? I'm self pay so I am going to TJ with Dr A Ortiz at the OCC. I am a Kaiser patient in Bakersfield. I am taking off work for a few weeks beginning this Monday.
  3. My date was changed to the 23rd.
  4. My date was changed to July 23. I'm in Bakersfield CA. I did the liquid diet one time a couple of years ago and found it was pretty easy because I got a running start at it. I started 4 weeks out instead of two and ended up a full liquid diet and lost 38 lbs. I think it was much easier that way. I plan to do the same thing again. I have already done the 3 day juice cleanse I saw online.
  5. July 15th for me. Medicare and Kaiser. I am 65. I already did the liquid diet thing two years ago so not worried about that. My insurance cancelled 5 days before my surgery, date back then. Altogether I had lost 39 lbs. It really started coming off when I started exercising along with the liquid diet. Now I'm doing the juicing thing. Not bad at all.
  6. it will be interesting to see how my surgeon differs from what the nurses were telling us in my Options classes. My surgery is supposed to be July 15. I've got to get busy losing weight before then. Also gotta find my paperwork and get all my tests done before then.

Ask anyway......we will answer. Well, this one question is not so private as some i would ask so ... Do the men have problems with hair loss like the girls do after surgery?

Why are there so many ladies in the Guys' Room? Kind of discourages me from asking questions about guy stuff.

Thanks. I am 65. I think my supervisor will let me take off for a month or maybe even six weeks. Not sure and just wanted to know what or how much time to ask for.
  10. loading and unloading trucks by hand. Very fast paced and some of it is fairly heavy. I am wondering how long I will have to take work off for the surgery. I would really like to keep this job and I think they may allow me a few weeks off. My wife seems to think I will never be able to go back to lifting stuff after this surgery. Any of you have any experience to share that may help me decide whether to go through with this?
  11. Not too many as short and round as I am so I am out of this one.

Awesome! You guys take a load off of my mind especially you Chris. My daughter had the gastric bypass about 15 years ago. When I talk to her about having this surgery she asks me why I would want to put myself through this. Same reason most other folks do, I want a better quality of life for the remainder of my years.
  13. I am worried that I may to old for the sleeve. Are there and 60+ men on this forum that have been sleeved recently? I am 65. Was supposed to be sleeved three years ago but my insurance cancelled 5 days before the surgery. I was worried about my age then too.
