    Alcohol!?

HI there Sirensiren, I am 1 month out and I am allowed the odd glass of vino from this friday (18th November) which will be 36 days after surgery. I am looking forward to it!!!!!! I am living in France...prehaps the rules are different here. I am allowed fizzy drinks (including Champagne!!) from the 6th December. Which works very well with Christmas coming! I will let you know how my first glass of delicious wine goes down this friday.... Cheers!

    What are your fears??

Hi everyone, my fear is not so much the surgery and the recovery but the life 'on the other side'. What if it is not I as imagine? What if I miss eating? What if the weight loss isnt enough 'compensation' for having to eat tiny potions for the rest of my life? I live in France and so eating and drinking is a big part of the day here!!! What if I miss food which has always been my faithful old friend?!!! However, I also don't want to spend the rest of my life regretting NOT getting sleeved and wondering how different I could have felt. My sleeve is booked for the 13th of October and I am ready for this to happen. I think i just have a little bit of last minute nerves. I keep saying to myself "don't let your fears get in the way of your dreams".
  4. Hi everyone, Good luck with your pre op diets!! Two weeks is a long time but in the grand scale of things...we are almost there!! I am in France and will be sleeved next week on the 13th of October. I only have to do 1 week pre op diet where I am only allowed to eat yoghurts. I am allowed 6-8 a day which does not sound much! Today is my last day eating as a 'normal' person as the yoghurt fest starts tomorrow. I am in a strange way looking forward to not being allowed to eat as I normally would. I am just thinking I will never be at this weight again and that is a good feeling. Best of luck to you all over the next couple of weeks
  5. Hi there, I am going to be an October Sleever too! I am British but living in France and I started my journey back in June when I decided enough was enough was enough!!! I went originally to my doc to request a gastric band. He then sent me to a surgeon who said he very rarely does bands anymore and recommended the sleeve. I was a bit stumped as I had not planned on removing a bit of my stomach!! However, after alot of research I realised it was THE solution for me. So all summer I have had my medical visits (cardio, psyc etc) and I have recived my letter to say I have been accepted! October 13th is the big day. Its funny, I know my weight has held me up in many ways but when reading all the stories on here I kept finding more and more examples from others as to how my weight has held me back. Am so pleased this is actually going to happen for me!!! I start my pre op diet on thursday 6th... here in France it is yoghurt, yoghurt and then more yoghurt!! Wishing you all luck on journey to Sleevesville!!
