  1. We're not supposed to put our blog links in these messages (stupid rule if you ask me) but many people, especially new people don't have their signatures turned on so they don't show up automatically. But my blog is www.queenofcrop.com Best to start at www.queenofcrop.com/about and then go from there. QofC
  2. Sounds like you are a good one to blog! I'm thinking of posting some stories of others on my blog once a month. Would you be interested? Basically I would be looking for an ABOUT ME page....take a look at mine and if you want to write one about you, I might be able to use it....sounds like you might have an interesting story to tell....
  3. Congratulations Diamondeyed! You are in for a very exciting 2013!!!! Looks like you have been on this forum for a while so you have an idea of what to expect....just know you will feel a little weird for 6-9 months but every day gets a little better and a little easier and then before you know it, you will be a normal weight person and life will be so much easier in every respect. Don't forget to take before photos....you won't be sorry! And when you have a chance, fill in your photo and profile here...it's nice for others to see who they are chatting with! I recapped my first year on my last blog post if you want to read about what you might expect in your first year. Good luck and enjoy the ride!
  4. Hi Janette! You've come to the right place....this forum has been a godsend for many of us...lots of support and information here. You can ask any questions or just browse through and people are very good at responding with their own experiences. You might want to take a look at my blog queenofcrop.com/about I blogged every Sunday for a little over a year; it will give you an idea of what to expect. My last post was a few weeks ago and recapped my year. It will be a little different for you because you are much younger, but in general you'll get the idea. Basically, you are going to feel weird for about 6-9 months and then your stomach heals and you start feeling normal again. But the ride is fun because you are losing weight all the way! Enjoy your sleeve; there are very few people that have regrets.
  5. Great post and I agree with everyone above...you look amazing and very healthy and I love your attitude! I am 15 months post op and I eat about 1500-1800 calories a day; small meals but very satisfying. I live in Europe now and they don't post nutritional information on packages but it doesn't matter because I wouldn't look anyway. I eat pretty much whatever I want and always something sweet with a coffee everyday. I try to get as much Protein in as I can but I don't obsess about it. I live in Amsterdam where I walk everywhere but I also go to the gym about 3-4X a week because I like it now. It's like you said, feeling like a NWP (normal weight person). It feels great. I weigh myself every day and so far after reaching goal at about a year, I bounce between 136 and 139. I haven't gotten back up to 140 yet, but if I do, I'll cut back or work out more. For those of you just considering this, or who have just had it done, you might want to look at my last post on my blog (I blogged every Sunday for a year) but my last blog sort of recaps what my year was like so you know what to expect. I'll post again from time to time but my first year is there for who ever is interested. Good luck to everyone and thanks for this wonderful, logical, reasonable post. You have a great life ahead of you...wish I could have done this when I was your age!
  6. Today, for the first time in YEARS, I sat on the end of my bed, raised my knee to my chest, put my foot also on the end of the bed and cut my own toenails!!! Such a simple little thing but it was really cool. I love my sleeve!
  7. Dank u wel joyv!!!! Thanks to the sleeve; I feel a lot younger as well! Much to be grateful for! Thanks!
  8. Thank you Leila for your nice comments....the next few months will be a little gnarly but it gets better every day. By this time next year you will feel fantastic and will be inspiring others....you will feel so fantastic to have your life and food under control. Keep me posted and have a great 2013!!!! QofC
  9. So I guess this is a SV and not a NSV, but I made it through the holidays and lost weight! To be honest, I'm shocked because we were in Switzerland and everyone kept feeding us cheese fondue and potatoes! Not to mention lots of sugary goodies....I remember the days before my sleeve and the holidays meant at least a 5 lb gain.....life is good and I love my sleeve! Just wrote my LAST post on my blog A YEAR IN THE LIFE OF A SLEEVER. I posted 24 photos....12 BEFORE and 12 AFTER....all my after photos are the best NSV's ever. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
  10. Thanks for the nice compliments....but I have been sending out a weekly blog for the last 15 months (every Sunday). Today was my last weekly post. I may update from time to time, but you can always go back and read from the first one! Just go to www.queenofcrop.com/about and go to the bottom to click on the beginning. Good luck and thanks again!
  11. Today I wrote my last weekly post on my blog. I have been blogging about A YEAR IN THE LIFE OF A SLEEVER every Sunday for the last 15 months.....at the end of the blog, I posted 24 photos.....12 rows; one before one after in similar situations....Seeing BEFORE AND AFTER photos were always inspirational to me....and boy they sure are telling. I love my sleeve and am so grateful I found this option and this forum. Hope every one had a wonderful new year......and for those of you who followed my blog....thank you!!!! I will continue to use this forum for continued inspiration and education. A HUI HOU!!!! QUEEN OF CROP www.queenofcrop.com

  14. Welcome MsNew!!!! Oh yes, this forum has been a huge support and saviour for so many of us. A great resource when we have questions and people here will empathize with you AND help kick you in the butt if you need it. So glad you found us. I am also one year out...)14 months actually. I have reached my goal weight as far as the CDC is concerned, but I would like to lose 10 more lbs (I am 138 and only 5'3"). I have been at 138 for 4 months....I don't think I'm trying hard enough and like you, I'm starting to eat things I shouldn't. But I do weight myself every single day to be sure I don't gain anything and I am exercising faithfully. Good luck to you and remember there are lots of people here for you! 15. To wanttolive ad bee30: you will soon be on the other side! We're all here for you as you navigate your way through the next few months...you are both in for a very exciting year!!! Be sure to take Before photos (today!) You won't regret it. Hopefully both of you read my blog yesterday...(click on the link below my signature to get to it or just go to queenofcrop.com I wrote in a little more detail what the hardest parts were for me in the last year...and as you will see, it wasn't much. You'll both do great. To MartyMcSkinnystein: love your post!
  16. I thought I would post this on the pre-surgery site so people can see what the hardest parts of the first year are; or at least were for me. I have posted them on my weekly blog so take a look. At least for me, out of the ten, there were really only two that were (or still are) hard; the rest is just noise. My blog is www.queenofcrop.com Good luck to all of you who are in the decision phase or waiting approval.
  17. One of the miracles of this surgery is the self confidence we get back when we lose the weight and don't have to make jokes about our weight to compensate for the embarrassment of it. Flying still sucks, but for different reasons now!
  18. Supersweetums...thank you for sharing that....I really appreciate it. I'm in Amsterdam and will go for an appt next week, so all of this information is really helpful. This is all new to me....never in my life did I ever think I would have implants because my boobs have always been so big, who woulda thought!!!!
  19. Thanks for all the great specific info!!! And yes, you should be a sales rep.....I have a call in to see a doctor about the options....are we allowed to post before and after photos of our boobies here????
  20. Hi there It's all new! Will you let me know what happens when you see the surgeon on 7 Dec? I have asked for an appt too but haven't heard back yet. Would love to know what they say and how much this might cost. You can email me directly at queen@queenofcrop.com Q of C
  21. I remember once when I was flying and I put my tray down and it touched my body...I looked across at my seatmate and saw how far it was from their body...and I thought..."how strange that they don't make these things all the same size!" This was DENIAL in action!!! Now I sit in my seat, cross my legs, play with the extra amount of seat belt that's hanging out just make me smile, put the tray down and it's a long way away! I don't like flying because it's such a hassle these days, but those little things sure make it much more pleasant! I was lucky I never had to get a seat belt extender, but it was pulled all the way out at times!
  22. Congratulations on such a huge weight loss....I hit my one year a few weeks ago; made goal at 11 months. Went back to my hospital for my one year check up and passed with flying colors...it feels great. I've posted a lot of before and after photos on my weekly blog and it's incredible how much denial I was in before surgery. It's been a magical year!
  23. Good imput on all this; but I have a different question. Just starting to look into breast surgery...since I have lost 85 lbs and am now at goal, my once full breasts (D cup) are pretty deflated. I look fine in clothes and even lingerie, but once the bra comes off it's sadly sag city. Do I get a breast reduction? Implants? I just need them to look natural and not like deflated balloons. I don't know what kind of surgery I need for this. I am so happy with the success of this surgery except for this part. Any ideas?
