  1. Thank you for answers, I have a ppo plan, I meet all the requirements, now I am just waiting for the dr's office to submit to the insurance company. Getting a little impatient just waiting. I am surrounded by a great support so no problem there. Ready to get this process underway. Thanks again for your response. Hope everyone is doing well.
  2. Was wondering if anyone had Cigna and a BMI of 35 and been approved? I have sleep apnea, type 2 diabetes and RA. Just wondering what I should expect?
  3. Congrats!! I'm believing with you that you will be approved!!! I'm approaching month 4 of my 6 month MSWLP... Excited for you!!! Thanks for your support, the hard part is waiting now.
  4. Hello, I have posted only once on here and it was to see if anyone knew anything about Cigna Insurance. I have started the journey, I have finished my six month weight lose program with weight watchers and my Doctor. Only concern I have is my BMI was 34 when I started, but I was honestly trying to lose weight. It did not go down it when up even higher. Now I have type 2 diabetes along with RA, Fibromyalgia, sleep apnea, had two lower back surgeries and a big family history of heart problems. I had my consult with my surgeon yesterday, he thinks I should be able to get insurance to approve the surgery.(fingers crossed). I have my appt with the Therapist on Friday and the Nutritionist on Oct 5. Then everything will be submitted to the insurance. I sure hope it goes through cause this extra weight is getting a little much. Thanks for letting me share my journey.
  5. Does anyone know if your BMI has to be 35 for 6 consecutive months with Cigna? My BMI has fluctuated be 33 and 35 and right now it is 35 at my 5th and 6th month. Going for my consult with surgeon tomorrow, was just wondering where I might stand with Cigna. I know i have coverage for the surgery. I have Fibromyalgia, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Sleep Apnea and Type 2 Diabetes.
  6. Hi, I am interested in having the gastric sleeve surgery. I have Cigna Insurance and have been doing weight watchers for 5 months. My weight goes up and down. I have fibromyalgia, rheumatoid Arthritis, sleep apnea and just found out I have diabetis. I know I have to go through 6 month weight loss program. Has anyone gotten approval from Cigna with any of these problems and going through 6 months with weight watchers. I have also had two lower back surgeries. I need to get this weight off, but with back and joint problems it makes it hard to exercise. Thanks for any input. bmatthews
