  2. Well congrats to everyone. I was approved by Aetna today. no date yet but I will know something soon
  3. Hello MsSlim... and thank you. I'm down 30 lbs as of yesterday. I feel a lot better. I had my last nut/dr visit yesterday. Next week everything will be sent to insurance. Hopefully approved any day now. I will soon go in for pre-testing and then the big day. I'm getting a bit nervous and thinking if I lost 30, I can do it on my own. Well that kind of thinking has kept me overweight. Congrats on working out. I would like to keep in tough. We are neighbors. I'm near GB Tollway between Dallas and Plano. Nice to meet you!!
  4. I don't have a reason to explain to people about my personal life. Why do you need to tell them anything? You are an adult and don't owe anyone a reason why. I did tell my employer due to the time off I need for dr visits and the up coming surgery. They are bound by law not to discuss my health or personal issues plus I gave no details. As far as co-workers go I'm not a social person at work which is the best policy, keeps you employed in the corporate world, so I have not and wont be saying anything, it's of no concern to people I work with. As far as family, similar policy. They dont need to know that I'm even off work, not to mention a reason why. I made this choice for me, not anyone else. I'm the one being cut on and having a lifestyle change forever. My mother knows but that's it. If you dont want to it's simple... don't.
  5. Hello All... I'm new to the site. I'm happy to find this. My Dr is Colleen Kennedy, my surgery will be @ Presby Plano in Texas. I just passed my psych consult and entering the last phase just before surgery. No date yet but hopefully early October if all else goes well. I have one more nut/primary care visit next week, then the pre-testing, after that I pray to be sleeved in about 30 days. All has been going well. The worse part so far has been the psych consult. I was a bit nervous. I had over 300 questions and a face to face interview. I have lost 21 lbs from June to August, 15th but I have done this before only to gain it back and then some. I'm drinking the nasty protein shakes, a little walking everyday, no sweets, lots of fruits and veggies. Getting used to what and how I will be eating for now on. God bless you all.
