Good luck with your decision. I felt LB was safer and at a slower rate, so I could tone up the flab instead of having to have all the plastic surgery (which I might still need). I am ok with the slower weight loss too. I also want something for life. I have heard too many GB cases gain all their weight back. Second opinion or another surgeon all together maybe!?!

Tinker3433 - I am not required to do a pre-op either, but figured I will do the liquid diet to get a jump start on my weightloss!!! Is that why you are doing it too? What kind of pre-op diet are you doing? There are so many to choose from!!!

I was denied by the insurance the first time. So, I am a little scared too! We will make it to the banded side though, right??? Post after your pre-op apointment! I won't find out my time until I go in for the consult on Sept. 13 - But I will let you know for sure then! I am getting so excited - almost 2 weeks away now! Woohoo!

justwant2lose, isn't it crazy - but I don't have a time yet! I go in on the 13th for my consult and they will take my money and then give me a time then. You know, once money is in hand. LOL I hope that it is early though - I am ready to get on with the new outside me, you know, the one that fits the inside!!!

WOW! You look great! I am hoping to have the same procedure (after losing the weight) or I might go with the LBL and a breast augmentation! Not sure yet, will have to see when I get there! I am looking forward to it though! Pain and all - it will be worth it!

Good luck Gean - I hope it all goes well. Is there any possiblity of coming up here to the Dallas area to get banded? With a fill dr maybe near you? I hope it all works out (and fast)! Welcome Chilipepper! I haven't had any dreams about the surgery, just ones of me looking oh so hot! Do you have to do a pre-op diet?

I thought it was great to see everyone with the same day and maybe make buddies with them. Isn't this great that we are all going to finally achieve our goals? Last January was the last time that I will ever resolve to lose weight again! Woohoo!

Gean - every doctor is different. Did you already get approved from your insurance, or will you be self pay? I was approved and my surgeon is on vacation, so I won't be banded until Sept. 19. Good luck with the consult, let us know when the surgery day is!

Darranga (sorry if I mispelt it, it is on a different page!) We are due to be banded on the same day! Woohoo! Time 4 me - I am not nervous yet either. I have tons of stuff I am doing around the house to get ready though. Things that would bother me if they weren't done. I had a consult with the first surgeon, but decided to switch during the approval period. I haven't met him for my surgery, but met him when he did my SIL's band. My friends hubby also went through him as well. He was very nice and very informative! I go and see him on the 13 of sept. and then surgery a week later! I don't have a pre-op diet with the new surgeon, but have heard that doing the liquid diet will help to shrink the fatty tissue on the liver and stomach. So, if that will mean easier surgery, then I am up for it. Not to mention that I will never gain any of that weight back either! Let me know how your sept. 5 appt goes! Good luck!
