  1. As someone who's been fat all my life, I have to say that even I didn't believe in weight loss surgery until this summer! Then I started reading about it and talking to my friends who have had it, and finding out that most of my prior thoughts were misconceptions. I felt a huge loyalty to Weight Watchers, which I now realize is not the answer for me since I have been on it many times in the past 30 years. I thought my doctor would give me a hard time about having the surgery but he was very supportive (so,,,,why didn't he ever mention it as an option for me????)....I've had 3 people tell me that they didn't think I was overweight enough for WLS (My BMI is 42.7!!! - maybe they were trying to pay me compliments!)....and I've got a super supportive family. So I went to the seminar and have an appointment at the WLS group in 12 days. Can't wait! I think the answer you gave to the negative commenter was great in that it informed him that he really doesn't know what he thinks he knows about it!
