I'm not understanding what's going on. For my psych eval i paid the $25 dollar co-pay and that's it. All of my pre-testing was bundled into my final bill, and that was only $300. My surgeon's bill was only $150. I don't get it?!?! we have the same exact insurance. If i were u I would talk to whomever handles the insurance for your surgeon. With Dr. Taylor at Barix in Ypsilanti the hospital and clinic were one unit, so i did'nt have to deal with too many people, but i'm thinkin your bill should'nt be too far off from mine. Alot of things have changed for these surgeries since the beginning of 2011. Almost everything BCBS told me from the whereabouts of my submission forms to costs was incorrect, but your surgeons team should know the correct information. I'm sure they've delt with alot of different insurances. Good luck...and keep me posted.!

Hi, I'm 6 weeks out, and unfortunately i did'nt practice not doing them together. After i eat i crave something to drink, so i have a sugar free popsicle. It really helps, and has'nt slowed my weight loss at all. Started out at 241 now 207.

Hi all, I have'nt posted in awhile, but this has been on my mind since before surgery. I had my VSG on july 27th 2011, so i'm a little over a month out. Things have been going good so far i've lost 30 lbs including 9 lbs pre-op. My worry and concern is when i hit my goal of 160 how do i stop losing weight?? I don't want to lose too much. I started out at 241 and now i'm 210. Does anyone else feel this way???

Yup Stacy, they've had my paperwork since may 11th, and everytime I call they say it's being reviewed. When i did ask to speak to someone from the nursing review department they told me they don't speak directly to anyone. A supervisor from exactly what department would I ask to speak to?? It seems like their giving me the run around, and it's really making me very frustrated and angry. Any help u can give me will be sooooo appreciated. I've been calling the main customer service line, maybe I should try a certain department??? anyways...HHEELLPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope i'm in the right place for this, i've had a little trouble navigating the forums. Anyways, i've been in this process since feb of this month. I've completed everything i needed to, there were alot of hoops to jump through, and i mean ALOT..lol..so my information was sent to BCBS federal basic of michigan on may 11th. I still have'nt heard anything. I've read about people getting approved within days. I've called 3 times so far, and nothing . I'm getting frustrated and am having 2nd thoughts about the whole thing..but I know i need this lifestyle change. I just wish they would hurry with my approval. I just needed to vent!!!

I've done everything i'm supposed to do for insurance approval, and there were alot of hoops to jump through. So now i'm waiting on an answer from BCBS federal. My papers were submitted on may 11th. Is it me?...or are they taking a long time to answer???? the suspense is killing me. Not knowing how this whole process goes i was hoping to be sleeved by now, but noooo, so i'm waiting,,,waiting,,,waiting. I'am soooo ready.

I've been going through this process for a few months now. After having my face to face with doctor Taylor in Ypsilanti he said I would only need a few from my pcp, psychiatrist, etc... Come to find out after talking with the insurance people I had to go through a 3 month diet, with all the information and extra's. A complete psych evaluation, consult with a nutritionist, blah..blah..blah..UGH!!!!!!. So finally everything was sent in on May 11th. After reading through the posts i seen that other people with BCBS of Michigan received a answer right away, OH NOOOO, not melva....lol. So, i"m still waiting, and not patiently. I'am so ready for a new lifestyle, ready for a new healthy life period. Whelp!!! pray for me family. APPROVE...APPROVE...APPROVE!!!!!
