  1. Halfway there! I have slowed down a lot in the last few weeks, mostly due to my own poor choices. But I am back on track and ready to make it the next 40! First pics are 5 days before surgery, after losing 10 lbs pre surgery, and the other two are pin up girl pictures from Halloween.

    Halloweenie Challenge!

Protein: Nearly all, 80% Carbs(my personal downfall): Potato chips and mashed potatos, but controlled portions. And yes, it is a difficult challenge, but we can do it!!! Maddog: I never thought I would be under 220 for a long time, and wow, now I am here! You will do it! Cherrybomb: SexyWitch Blog of course! Sharp pains in stomach

I am just over two weeks out from surgery. I was put on mushies mid of last week, and did fine on mashed potatoes, mushy tuna, and even some super overcooked noodles in Soup. On Friday, I over did it by having a few bits of very well chewed pizza, flushed with Water. I felt a little over stuffed, but ok. I returned to work on Friday as well. I have a very physical job, lots of bending over, lifting things, dragging things etc. I made sure not to lift anything over 15 lbs per my surgeon, but I am also worried I pulled something. It really began with a 'stitch' in my side, but that was only on Friday, and I was fine yesterday. I did liquids all yesterday and was fine, but today, mashed potatoes and oatmeal both caused some serious stabbing/sharp pain in my abdomen, all on my left side. I have had gas pain before, this is different, and seems to go away after I have 'digested'. I am thinking that I just irritated my stomach, but it is pretty painful, even painful when I touch my abdomen, and when I move around, so I am a little scared. Water/crystal lite is going down fine with out pain. Has anyone else experienced this? Did I just irritate myself too much and should do liquids for a while? And before you say it, I am planning on calling my surgeon tomorrow, but would like some peace of mind, and advice/support from anyone who may know what I did to myself!

    Sharp pains in stomach

I also had orange juice last night. I wonder if that just made it worse!

    June 2007 Bandsters

When I went to my initial seminar with my surgeon, she actually had a patient come in and they did a fill right there in the conference room!! She of course had all of her sterile instruments, a clean bedsheet etc. THe patient climbed on a table, put a squishy pillow under her back(to help the port be more obvious) Dr. Jessee filled her syringe with sterile saline, felt for the port with her gloved hand, and injected. Two seconds! Then the patient sipped water for about 10 minutes, to decide if it was the right restriction(if too tight she would not be able to get the water down) The fill was just right, and she was up and ready to go! That is what a fill is like, as I witnessed it! Easy as pie. And other than the needle prick, painless. Good luck Toni and all the other fill-trailblazers!

    June 2007 Bandsters

I am a little worried tonight. I am having sharpish pains in my stomach. Not really super painful, just slightly...sharp. I think I may have over eaten my soup, but it is liquid right? I can't have done much damage, I ate very slowly! I am trying to sip water now and hoping it goes away. Yikes! Anyone else felt this?

I just wanted to thank all of you for your energy, humor and excitment. I was banded on the 15th and am doing fine. I think I was eating too much at a time the last two days,(even though I am sipping) but I am trying to remedy that. You guys have been a great help! <3 all my June band siblings!

    June 2007 Bandsters

Less than 8 hours away! I am so excited, and very little nervousness. I am most worried about getting on the table and having some complication that prevents my getting the band! Thoughts and hopes to all the people joining the band tomorrow. My twitter is up at twitter.com/Aperil if you want to read my cellphone updates to my experience. THanks for all the support, info and help here. I am a semi lurker, but I love all of you guys anyway! Yay Junies! I can't believe it is finally here!

    June 2007 Bandsters

I am up for surgery on Friday! If any one is interested, I will be doing a Twitter starting today about my lapband experience, from my feelings over the next two days, all the way up to sitting in the surgery center and after I wake up. I will be updating from the cellphone as long as I feel able. Twitter / Aperil I am doing this for myself, but also for anyone who is curious about the immediate experience. Hope you will join me.
