  2. Aww wow.....that's exciting to think maybe it could happen sooner than later!! I'm still on the nervous side of how bad the pain will be and if I'll choke on food...I have choked before while having the lap band and thought I was going to choke to death!! I'm petrified the restriction will be like that!!
  3. My name is Neasa T and I live in a small town south of Dallas, Tx. I was always a very tiny person until I was around 19 yrs. old and started gaining wait and have struggled all the way up to current date with being overweight.I currently weigh 247 lbs. and I'm 5ft 3 in. I originally got the Realize Lap Band put in during April 2010. I am 20 lbs lighter at this time but have went through 3 surgeries to fix my lap band port. It has flipped and has caused me nothing but problems since the day I had it put in!! Currently I am getting ready to have my port taken out on January 5-2010. My surgeon will leave the band in place for a couple of weeks until BCBS of Texas approves my surgery to convert to the Vertical Gastric Sleeve. Due to my numerous complications and the multiple surgeries he believes it will go pretty quickly through the approval process. My surgeon who has done surgical procedures on family members and myself is Dr. Watson Roye at Baylor Waxahachie. My advice to anyone concidering getting the band is to not do it!!! I realize it is much less invasive but no one tells you about all the people it doesn't work for. Going through this feeling alone & my family looking at me and the weight continuing to stay on.....frustration and heart ache is a extreme understatement!! I'm so thankful there is a website like this one as reading alot of the different posts and seeing hundreds of before and after is so very encouraging!! Thank you to all of those who have posted for people like me...I will definitely pay it forward for others!!
  4. Wow, so impressive!!! Congratulations....I hope to one day be able to say I'm down 50 lbs....
