  1. I have a bruise right there from giving myself blood thinner shots for 10 days after surgery. Did you have to do this? Or did they do it for you? I'll be that's what it is.
  2. Hi there. I just found this forum last night, so this is the first time I've posted. I am also a teacher and have BCBS TX and I didn't have any problem getting approved. I had the sleeve surgery on Nov. 29th, so I am about 2 weeks out. I am 5'3" and weighed 265 on the day of surgery. I had an original BMI of 53% with several co-morbidities (diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholersterol). They originally approved me for the Bypass, but after talking it over with my regular doctor and my surgeon (Dr. Kenneth Barnes with Baylor in FW and Dallas), we decided that the Sleeve was a better option for me. I'll be honest and tell you I was scared to death going in, but I survived the surgery and all if going pretty well. Good luck on your journey. Feel free to ask me any questions you might have. I don't know if I can answer them all, but I'll try. TexasEm
