Has anyone had any success getting BlueShield of CA to approve plastic surgery? If yes, what surgery was approved and what steps did you take to obtain that approval? Thank you!

Thank you, Djmohr, for your response. I never thought I would consider plastic surgery, but I am now. My health insurance will only cover a panniculectomy if my doctor and I can prove it is medically necessary. I think I would have better results with abdominalplasty. Meanwhile, need to find better shapewear. Mudslide...

I am almost 2 years post-op. I was 256 pounds at 5'3" before surgery and have lost 83 pounds. I am happy with my weight loss and am still losing slowly. How are ladies dealing with excess skin especially at your mid-section? I am wearing much smaller clothing sizes but the skin around my mid-section looks horrible. I'm wearing high-waisted shapewear and it helps a bit. Have you found any shapewear or girdles that help? Thank you.!
