  1. Well, I called my surgeon and he said not to travel 6 weeks until after the surgery. Since I am paranoid/cautious to start off with, I'm going to heed his advice. I just pushed the surgery two weeks. While I want to have it done ASAP, I want to be safe. I figure in the big scheme of life, 2 week won't make a huge difference. Thanks for everyone's advice, though!
  2. I have yet to be sleeved, but I ALWAYS gain weight after surgery. They pump so much fluid in you, it's bound to happen. As a matter of fact, after I had a c-section (delievered an 8lb baby and all that goes with it) I came home and got on the scale because I wanted to see how much weight I lost after having a baby. Much to my dismay, I actually had gained a pound. lol I frantically called my OB/GYN to see what was going on. They said it was due to the surgery and all the fluids. It took a good two weeks before the weight started to go down. So moral of the story is, the weight gain is due to the surgery. Let your body heal
  3. I'm scheduled for mid-November and I'm NERVOUS! I hope I'm making the right decision. I've tried every diet out there so I feel it's either this or remain fat forever. My concern comes from the surgery and not waking up. I have small children and I can't help but think a fat mom is better than no mom at all. Then on the other hand I want to be a thin, active mom and set a good example. Eeeek! Sorry to ramble....
  4. I'm scheduled to have my sleeve done in November. I have an event 10 days later that requires an hour plane ride. Is that do able or am I asking for trouble?
