  1. Has there been an update on her condition?
  2. 10. I don't want to have heart disease. 9. I don't want High Blood Pressure. 8. I want my children to say hey that's my mom, not ask me to pick them up from school around back. 7. I want to look good in cloths again. 6. I want to ride my horses and not feel sorry for them having to carry all my weight around. 5. I want to be able to breathe again. 4. I want to not sweat walking into work. 3. I want to look professional again. 2. I want to feel about me, like my husband feels about me. 1. I would like to not feel this...... When I walk through the Mall with my 6'3" tall, very well built, hansom, cowboy husband, (here in Texas, the perfect man) and great looking women look at us and wonder how I got this man to be with me. Vain of me, no. It just hurts.[/font]
  3. That's a great idea! Thanks for your help.
  4. Hi everyone, My name is Julie and I have started the process to have my sleeve done. I went in for my weight-in appointment and to go through all of my medical history yesterday. I got some good news and some bad news...... good news is I lost 6lbs since Monday not even trying to lose it........ Bad news is they are going to do a stomach scope on Tuesday because of my past history with peptic ulcer disease. Has anyone ever had this done? If so, If they find something will this be a determining factor on whether or not they will do the sleeve?
  5. Congrats!!!!! I;m going to the doctor today for my weigh-in. I'm super excited to get the ball rolling! I hope to be where you are soon!!
  6. I'm in the US, Texas to be exact. I hope I get the job too. This was my second interview for the position so it's down to me another person.
  7. I had my first appointment with my GP to talk about the WLS today. However, I was extremely nervous about the appointment and the fact that I had a second interview for another job today didn't help the fact that my BP was 120/100. The appointment went well so I really had nothing to worry about but it was another big step in the direction to my sleeve. =0) I have gone to my interview and it went well, so again, worrying for nothing. Stress is my worst enemy. So now I'm ready to meet with my surgeon on Wednesday for my weight-in. super excited.
  8. Hi Ms Lisa, I think it depends on your doctor. Mine said he would put me on a South Beach diet. So I would just ask your doctor.
  9. I am so sorry for you that your brother would treat you like that. My family besides my husband and my two beautiful girls are all behind me and they know this is good for me. Now back to my husband and girls...... It's the entire life change with my husband. Smaller amounts of food...the money I'm going to spend out of my pocket...If I get skinny I might start looking for someone else….(by the way, I think that if I stay this size he might start looking for someone else),things like that....my girls say they love me big or small no matter but they have gotten use to me this size. They are scared of the unknown. I just try to reassure them that I will be fine and in the long run I can get back to riding horses again and playing softball with them and living again. No only that but, I want to be health when one day they (my girls) tell me I'm gonna be a grandmother so I will be able to keep up with my grandbaby. I hate that your brother talked to you like that but I'm sure he'll get over being mad once he sees the results of the WLS. Good luck to you and I hope you take yourself into consideration...They aren't the ones toting around the extra weight that you have to.
  10. Just paste the bbcode under your signature. If you go to edit profile there will be a link to edit your signature and then just paste the code at the end.
  11. I can only pray mine will go as fast as your's. My first appointment with my surgen is Oct. 7. I can't wait to get started!
  12. I work for Texas A&M here in Texas and my BCBS cover's it. It has just started so you may want to check again just to be sure. I don't know why the state you are in would make a difference.
  13. Hi, I'm new here too. I just went to my seminar on Tuesday. I'm so excited and I'm in the same boat as Mommy2girls, no co-morbidities, however, I have server back pain and knee pain. I have migraines that would kill a horse and I stay tired all the time. I have always been athletic and strong but over the last 7 yrs I have gained over 100 lbs. I'm so happy I have made the decision to get sleeved. I choose the sleeve over the band because of this site. I see that a lot of people have decided to convert and besides that my insurance covers the sleeve and not the band. I don't have my surgery date yet but I can't wait!!! I can only hope to see results in my own journey as all of you here have.
