  1. I've been very encouraged today reading this thread. I'm 5 days post op today and struggling with my emotions (I think its cause of my meds) but really needed the encouragement today. The one think I want to do that no one has mentioned is to be able to go into a public restroom and not have to worry about being able to get out. :sneaky2: This might be TMI - but somehow there are stalls that I can get in but struggle getting out of - so I'm really looking forward to that! LOL I'm also in college full time (at age 46) and will be graduating about the same time I should hit my goal weight. My reward will be a forest green, convertable, mini cooper! Can't wait!!!!
  2. I had my surgery at an Army hospital - they have a very detailed program for 9 months prior to surgery and 3 years following. The clear liquids only last 3-4 days until it is well tolerated. At that point, you move to full liquids and add the protein then. During clear liquids the focus is on hydration instead of protein. I am 5 days post op and have been on full liquids for 2 days.
  3. Hi Coco I was sleeved on the 19th and am on full liquids - my doc only kept me on clear liquids until I could tolerate them very well - then let me try one ounce of full liquid and see if it went well. It did and I moved to full liquid. BTW - had my favorite food since the surgery tonight - my hubbie took one can of cream of potato Soup and made it with fortified nonfat milk, added 2 T of grated cheese and melted it into it and added 1/4 tsp of liquid smoke (to taste like it had bacon in it without the bacon or fat) then strained it. I had 2 oz of soup for dinner tonight. Took an hour to eat - 1 oz in each 1/2 hr and it was wonderful! Good luck!
