  1. I also have small children, 18 month old = 20 pounds, a 3 year old = 30 pounds, 5 year old = 40 pounds. Prior to surgery I would lift all of them, obviously the 5 year old the least and the 18 month old the most. My doctor said I would have a 10 pound restriction for two weeks and 20 pound restriction for 4 weeks. I still am not sure how I will handle the when my 5 year old is back at school and my husband is at work, but for now (4 days post op) I am just trying to take it easy. To hear Tiffykins say 10 lbs for 6 weeks really freaks me out and I will be talking to my doctor about it more at my next appt. I would difinitely discuss it completely with your doctor before surgery.
  2. I was sleeved on Dec 24. Home on the 25th. Feeling okay. Not quite as well as I thought I would be doing. My surgeon had me on Clear liquids Fri - Sun and to start full liquids Mon. (today) They seems to want me to take in alot of Protein drinks, which make me gag. I tried some strawberry spirutein this afternoon (2 oz) and now I am freaking out about the seeds in it. That it will hurt my incision line. I am so nervous to eat anything, but I cannot believe how hungry I am. What should I be eating? My dietitian says 3 days clear liquid, 2.5 weeks full liquids, then I will meet with her again and move to pureed. Just wondering what your post op diet was? Thank you!
  3. I have UHC and I was approved in the beginning of December. I did not need 6 months supervised diet. The only requirement for me was a 5 year weight history. I hope that other insurance companies quickly follow suit.
  4. And I am so nervous, and excited, and nervous, and a little more nervous. I am 33 y/o and have three little ones. Which makes the situation more nerve racking for me. I am completey rocking the pre-op diet. Since Thursday morning I have only had Protein shakes, juice, broth, Water and 2 popsicles. Today I start my all Clear liquids, so I will be having juice, Jello, broth, and water. On Saturday we hosted a family Christmas party and I was completely in awe of my willpower to not touch one bite of food. I feel very hungry and could use some more energy (especially with getting all the Christmas stuff together!) but I am managing just fine. I still have so many questions. I really like this forum. I have been lurking on Obesity Help for a couple weeks and it really stressing me out over there. I am glad to have found this place!
  5. Today is your day Frank! I am thinking of you and hope everything is going perfectly!
