  1. I must apologize because I didn't look at this blog site closer the first visit-- It has many links to other information and I only read the main blog. I encourage others to check out the blog too it is informative.
  2. There isn't too much info on that blog but thank you. There are many different views- I fear that I am not able to find many people who are 5 years and out who have done the weight loss surgery and are still happy and keeping the weight off. If anyone has info on that please forward. The surgery has been around since the 1950's so there must be people who are blogging who are long term weight loss success stories but I can't find any who are not trying to plug some surgery clinic.
  3. OK. At least I know I am not alone. I have a VSG surgery date coming up and I have the same concerns that all of you have mentioned. One big one (no pun intended) is that overall about 90% of weight loss surgeries do result in weight loss in the 2 year period following. But, less than 26% have 10 year success in keeping more than 1/2 of the weight lost off. Is that still worth it? I have lost weight and gained it most of my life. I too like food but somehow either through genetics, or metabolism along with eating habits I have gained weight and need to lose 100 pounds. I don't see many people on the forum who have done weight loss surgery and kept it off for 6 or more years. Everyone who responds seem to be in that 2 year honeymoon period. I hope this isn't peeing in anyone's Cereal I just need more input too and advice. I am scared and don't really know if it is the right thing to throw away most of my stomach. The thought that only 2 shrimp could fill me up is just mystifying to me-- I swear some chinese buffets :drool5:would want to ban me from cutting into their profits ( just kidding but some of you know what I mean) Any thoughts are welcome???
  4. I am simply having trouble finding out any history good or bad. I know he is a general surgeon who is starting a weight loss pratice along with general surgery but I would like to know people who have had the surgery or have any History of him as a surgeon. He is from the state of LA for his first surgery work. Thanks Dr. Marin Dan Radulescu is a partner.

    Indiana, Ohio or Florida?

I am looking at a surgeon who has done maybe 25. I don't have many local choices. 300 sounds like alot to expect. Someone had to be the first 25 or 50 so that is what I am having to decide myself if I want to be in that first group...Not an easy decision with little geographic choice.
  6. Thank you so much for making the effort:biggrin0:. I don't really know what to make of little information either. I didn't find any state medical complaints on Dr. Wier on FL or LA state medical board site but by the time a complaint makes it to that level it is pretty bad. That still isn't a total clear bill of medical record because there can be other medical issues that never get to that level. I like to have more research before making a decision. I don't mind being one of the first but I would really like to know other's stories on their experience. Thanks for cross posting this or reaching out to anyone else who may know. I went to the OH site and Dr. Wier is on it but no testimonials? says he has done 30 procedures:confused1:. Thanks again and looking forward to hearing from any others.
