System, DS and Other Surgical and Non-Surgical Weight Loss Options. too as you have a health tracker and you can input all your pre op measurements and keep track of your progress with graphs I thought it was a good idea !

Well done on the pre op I haven't weighed myself but I feel like I have lost some weight already fingers crossed

not long to go now !

Yeah Mr Ahmed Ahmed is doing the surgery I met him two weeks ago he is a really nice man and seems convinced he ''will be in and out in 40 minutes '' which was a plus as far as I was concerned as I don't want to be under general anaestetic any longer than necessary been today to pick up my spirometer it is not as easy as i thought also had a doctors app this morn as i thought i had an ear infection !!!!!!! panic !!! but no just eczema ....only me could eczema in her ears too !!!

Well you wouldn't believe it but they offered it to me !!!! I have other conditions Asthma , PCOS , High blood pressure ,and last year was given a BiPap machine for sleep apnoea after discovering I had secondary polycythemia (blood condition ) and very low oxygen saturation so my consultant suggested WLS and as soon as I agreed I seem to have been fast tracked as others I have spoken to at the hospital clinic have been waiting 2 years or more in total and have to travel miles fortunately I live in west London and Charing Cross Hospital is the home of Imperial Weight Centre UK's first Academic Health Science Centre (AHSC) and the largest trust in the country. I had my first consultation about it in July 2009 and my surgery date is Dec 14th ......maybe because of pre existing conditions or it could be the good old postcode lottery .....but I think they think it will be an investment and save the NHS money in the long run ...:lol0: Anyway I am so excited about it I tell anybody who will listen and for the first time in my life I am happy to tell people my weight .....bizarre and my friends all seem really curious

    Very Sad, Please Read

I am so sorry to hear of your mother-in-laws distressing situation and I am sure other members are more qualified to comment than me as I haven't had my surgery yet and I live in England but I have already had 3 appointments with another next week regarding my pre op care, I have seen a dietitian, a psychologist, had all my labs done, met the whole surgical team and have all the info and statistics of the hospital, the op and the surgeon and was given 24hour helpline numbers and I am currently on a pre op diet and my whole family and friends have known what was happening from the start and have been amazingly supportive .....and I have been told that if you don't follow the liver shrinking pre op diet and my surgeon cannot perform the op laparoscopically he will not continue as he puts it you haven't kept your side of the deal and you are not serious enough to follow that for 2 weeks why should he put your life and his reputation in jeopardy with a much longer surgery but I suppose this comes from the system we have here with a National Health Service and not a pay as you go system you have in America forcing people to find cheaper solutions and huge debts......but that is a political argument I wish your mother in law a speedy recovery and good luck with your impending arrival You get out of life what you put in
  12. Hi all my surgery is on Dec 14th too! but in London England good luck on your journey
