Hi Mila - I had band erosion and I healed for 14 months and when I was ready for the sleeve I did wonderful. I was told to wait 3 - 6 months but I had to have my head ready for it and it took 14 and 65 pounds regain to get me to that place. When the band eroded I was 123 when I had my sleeve done 6/25 I was 193.8 today I am 166.8 and loving my sleeve :crying: Best of luck to you, I just wanted you to know there is a good chance you too can get your sleeve. I had a great surgeon in Dallas and paid $11,700 because I did not want to go to surgeon that my insurace would pay for in FL.

Hi - I am not the one who was approved by tricare:( I was selfpay in Dallas. I was approved by UHC but they said I had to go to docs who had not done many sleeves so I self paid. I paid $11,700 in Dallas by a doc who has done hundreds sleeves and had a lot of experience with revisions. I DO! Hi I am happy to hear you recovered from all of this! I had a band till 4/09 - had to remove due to erosion - I had no symptoms - found in EGD - they removed - now at goal 119.0 pounds but starving without the band and I know I will regain if I do not get another band or sleeve - How much did all the compplications cost you? I do not have ins to cover sleeve - do for band - but not sure band is the right choice again - can you tell me anything to stop my head from reeling! I have read so many good/bad/ band yes / band no / sleeve best / stories I can not think straight - Thank you in advance for your sharing! Paula in FL

Hi all! I just joined and here is my story - I am one of thoses "2 year out banded people" Never had the first complication with the band till Jan 09 - jumped off 3 ft ledge and hit the floor went to my knees in pain at band area. Wen to doc he said it was find perfect in fact under flouroscope - pain subsided after a week so went on with life then in 4/09 I suddenly had no restriction so I went in for a fill - told him something still felt differnt - he looked again - again said perfect gave me a fill - I called back that day and told them something was wrong no restriction - they said wait a week for it to kick in - I said not something that has happened to me but I know others that do so I waited - 1 week later under flouro they see the Fluid get to the band and just pour out - go for EGD next day - found erosion - never had any symptoms per doc - band removed two days later - now I am looking into the sleeve. What can you tell me to settle my mind! I have so many conflicting opinions from so much reading I just can't decide what to do ;( HELP ME Paula in FL PS I am at goal actually below goal was 239 - goal 135 - met in 46 weeks with band - now 119.0 but just holding on - really hungry now without band.
