  1. This may sound dumb, but how do I get that tracker onto my profile?
  2. I have 2 days to go--surgery on Monday. I have a plan......SLEEP as much as humanly possible, drink my Protein shakes and just hang in there. Tomorrow Clear liquids ONLY. No Protein drinks. I feel tired and dizzy and weak but I am not a quitter and I don't think any of you are either. I/WE can DO THIS!!! I am only hours away from being a healthier, skinnier me! I have just ordered my post op Vitamins and they should be here by the time I get home from the hospital. My church is praying for a quick recovery. I am good to go!!! WHOO HOO!!!
  3. Hang on there! I am finally set for surgery after 9 months of pre- approval stuff! Can someone tell me how to add that little tracking thing onto my profile?
  4. Ok. So I will be stocking up on Gatorade that's for sure! Thank you all for your words of encouragement. This helps me so much!
  5. How can one possibly get enough Protein, carbs and veggies PLUS fluids with 1 cup 3 times a day? I am getting worried about this. Surgery is in 4 days!!!
  6. I am really worried about this too! How can I have enough fluids AND eat enough to stay healthy? HELP! I live in AZ and this is a dry climate. I drink at lest 6 bottles of Water a day now, what happens after surgery????
  7. I am on day 10 of the pre op an I am so tired! Is that normal? A little down in the dumps too. Only3 more days to go! Any words of wisdom out there?
  8. I think depression is normal for the most part as long as it does not last too long. Please know that no matter what ANYONE says to you or about you, you are a WONDERFUL, PRECIOUS VERY LOVED CHILD OF GOD! You WILL be victorious you will do what YOU need to do to get healthy. Start thinking like a healthier you. You ARE smart, you ARE healthy, you ARE beautiful, you ARE strong! Say this to yourself several times a day. Before you know it, you will feel better! Write back and lets keep in touch.
  9. Thank you all for your words of wisdom. I ma starting my liquid diet on Monday 1/20. Surgery date Feb 3rd. Im excited and determined.
  10. Hi there! I just got approved and have a surgery date of Feb 3rd. I also asked myself "whoa, what am I doing?" Then I reminded myself that I have tried every other answer under the sun and none of them ever worked long term. I know that this is my last chance and it is the way that will work for me. Cutting out 80% of my stomach! What? Yep, I'm willing to do this so that I can live my life fully and eliminate the health problems I have. I want to be here for my grandkids and great grand kids and I KNOW this will work. I have wasted too many years on trying to lose weight. I'm done with the roller coaster. This is the last attempt and it WILL work! It can work for you too. Have you tried EVERYTHING ELSE? Best wishes to you!
  11. I was officially approved for the sleeve today. I anticipate surgery in approx. 3 weeks. I'm so excited and I feel so blessed that I am getting a second chance at life! I am beginning to have so many health problems that I am sure are caused by or aggravated by my weight. But I am SO nervous! I don't want to fail one more time. I have battled weight ALL my life and this is my last chance. I need suggestions on how to stay on a liquid diet for 2 whole weeks. How is this possible when I couldn't even do Weight Watchers that allows REAL food? There are no support groups where I live so I am going to count on you all to help me through this. I have 100 pounds to lose. But first, I need to get ready for the surgery. Help!
  12. So the pre op diet is to lose weight. Then if I start losing weight now, I will be ahead of the game. Right?
  13. I am so grateful for all the encouraging words! I wonder why some folks are allowed full liquid, or 2 protein shakes and 1 meal per day, or plain liquid. What makes the difference?
  14. Thanks Laura! I love the term "food funeral". Im gonna be really careful!
  15. Thank you all for your support. I already feel better. Im going to need this kind of support to do this. I know I am blessed. I have been wanting this kind of help for years. I now have insurance that will pay for it. I plan to start my pre op diet the day after Christmas. I didn't want to try and do it through the holidays because that is just setting myself up to fail. I KNOW I MUST succeed this time. I haven't even told anyone except my parents. I don't want to take a chance of failing again and everyone knowing.
  16. Hi all. I will be having the gastric sleeve done in January 2014. Like most of us, I have failed so many times at trying to lose weight. This is my last chance. I am so worried about the 2 week pre-op liquid diet. Im afraid I will fail at that also. I'm already trying to think of ways to outsmart the docs! How can I "sneak" some sort of food into the "liquid" diet? Crazy, I know. I just cant imagine being SO hungry for 2 whole weeks! Any words of wisdom will be appreciated. Thank you
