I'm doing it at Mi Hospital and coming from Utah, that's why I chose Tijuana. Flights to San Diego were by far the least expensive as well as the surgery itself. I have 2 co workers who used Dr. Elias Ortiz recently. One had the rny and one was sleeved they both had great things to say so I decided to use him as well. Puerta Vallarta or Cancun would be great! I wish I would've looked closer at those options earlier because it probably makes it feel like you're getting a little vacation out of the deal as well.

I have decided on rny but now due to funding, it would be easier to do vsg. I am just not convinced that I would lose much with a vsg. Am I wrong? I am currently 245 and would feel successful at 160 and a size 12 but I've never been lower than that as an adult and would love to get to about 130 and a size 6. . .I'm afraid i wouldn't achieve this with the sleeve where I could with the rny. My body gets to that set point of 160 and just won't go lower no matter what I do. Should I make the extra effort to get the additional $ for the rny or just settle with the sleeve. I'm just afraid I won't lose weight after all the money and the process.

Rescheduled for 10/14 ,but still excited!

I'm having mine in Tijuana in October but I've found that most do the sleeve over the rny when going down there however, I feel the rny is right for me so I'm going to go for it anyway.

My surgery is 10/14!

I am also going through alighterme and have ronda as my coordinator. Awesomely enough, I actually live only about 25 minutes from her so we met up for lunch and i got to ask her all my questions in person. My surgery isn't until October but I'm so excited. . . Like a kid on Christmas!

Indigochild, i am going through the extact same thing but I am going to take a leap of faith and do it. I found out that 2 of my coworkers went to Tijuana and used Dr. Lopez. One about 3 months ago, and one about a year ago. I was shocked that people I actually knew HAD actually already done this so that settled it for me as far as surgeons because I had them right in front of me to answer all of my questions. My husband will be staying home with our daughter as well but luckily my mom agreed to go with me or I would be going alone too. I hope you're able to find peace in your decision amd know what is right for you. Just know that someone else, probably more than just me, can relate and knows exactly what you're going through.

First off congrats! How exciting! What was the price through Dr. Illan? Is he in Tijuana?

Hi! I am flying out Oct 4, surgery the 5th but I'm using Dr. Lopez (90% sure). My procedure will be don at Mi Doctor Hospital. Hopefully we can follow eachother's progress!
