  1. My surgery is going to be in Mexico so I don't have a lot of info yet. I want to try to figure it all out and have my pantry stocked before I go so I won't have to go out when I get home. I'm not sure what the guidelines are as far as adequate amounts of what post op so that's why I ask. Maybe I could mix 2 scoops instead of 1 to double the protein. I'm still 3 weeks away so I have time to research it more but I just was thinking about all the protein drinks I've ever had ans visalus is by far the best tasting imo. Thanks for the tip. I def dont want to be deficient on anything.
  2. I am planning on usimg Visalus as my protein shake. It's delicious! Anyone have thoughts on this?
  3. For sure! How are u feeling. I'm having my surgery on a monday amd planning on returning to work the next monday. Do u think this is possible? I'm telling my boss and coworkers I'm having my gallbladder removed so it well explain why I'm not feeling great when I return. I have an easy desk job so I'm not too worried but maybe I'm being overly ambitious.
  4. I just feel like if I did the sleeve I would get past what I call my plateau (never lost weight beyond 155 lbs matter what I do) and for me, that's just not ok with me. I have gone from 155 to 255 to 160 back to 220 to 155 and now at 240 over the last 8 years or so amd I'm just done dieting and hitting that plateau and getting discouraged and giving up amd gaining it back and repeating the cycle. I fear if I get to 155-160 and dont get into new territory I will get discouraged and give up again and the sleeve will allow me to eat sweets without consequence and that is a huge downfall for me so I can see me hitting my plateau and not losing and then turning to eating crap again. If I can hit 130 to 140 I will mentally feel that I've conquered the plateau and that is what it will take for me to know without a shadow of a doubt that I will be committed the rest of my life where as if I hit 155-160, I'm not as certain.
  5. I am actually probably doing the rny, did anyone there while u were there do the rny or only the sleeve? I have a friend who went to Dr. Ortiz for the rny and her daughter as well, and another who went to him for the sleeve. I know the sleeve is more common down there so I was curious if he did any rny's that u knew of while u were there.
  6. I'm working with Ronda and things have gone well. Booked my flight today!
  7. Trig, who was your coordinator?
  8. Interesting because they are all 3 coordinated through the same company. I will have to look into it.
  9. I am going through A Lighter Me and if you have the sleeve you stay in the hospital 2 nights and the hotel 2 nights. If you do the RNY you are in the hospital 3 nights, and the hotel 1 night.
  10. Haha, I'm still trying to figure out how to upload ANY pic/selfie on this app. Can it be done, or only on the actual website?
  11. He is through alighterme.com and his credentials are there.
  12. My surgery is 10/14 also with Dr. Elias Ortiz! I'm so excited!
  13. Okay, so after a couple days of contemplating I have solidified my decision for a sleeve instead of the rny and after receiving a copy of some of my preop info and everything was filled out for the sleeve instead of the rny by mistake, I figured I would just go for it. Must've been a sign lol!
  14. Belinda, did you use Elias Ortiz or Ariel Ortiz?
  15. Thanks Ann, its things like you said that are must helpful right now.
  16. I'm 5'4". I would actually like to lose 110 so being 245 now, that would leave me at 135. Possible with a sleeve? More likely with rny? No comorbidities here though. What is the weight loss like at 4 months out? 9 months out ? I mean, I have read and re-read what to respect but I think first hand accounts are more accurate and realistic.
