  1. Thanks for the positive comments. It's getting less intimidating!!!!!!!!!
  2. If you have the surgery at Day One in Chicago (even though it is 1.5 hours) make a day of it. Then you go shopping at all the neat stores. Research your new WARDROBE!!!!!:bounce:

  4. I went to an info session on March 10th in Merrillville, IN. Had my first consult with Dr. Jonathan Meyers on March 26th. Got on this web site and started reading some of the experiences and it scared the heck out of me. I cancelled my first pysch appointment which was scheduled for last Friday. Wanted to make sure I was doing the right thing with no regrets later. Rescheduled my pysch consult for May 2nd. Just wanted to hear personal experiences about the physicians that will be doing my surgery. (Did I just make a commitment there?.....):nervous
  5. Looking for feedback for bandsters that used DayOne Health in Chicago, IL. What Dr. did you use and positives or negatives. Still considering procedure and want to be totally informed.
  6. Does anyone have any ideas on why a band slips? Is it over extending yourself physically that makes it slip? Are there physical restrictions you need to follow to avoid complications?
  7. OK...now were getting some positive information. Thanks for the insight and keep it coming. And JACK...thanks for your tidbit! I want to know that IF...and I mean IF...I ABSOLUTELY WANT A TASTE OF A GOOD STEAK that it's not going to send me to the HOSPITAL!
  8. Thanks! That's one for the positive side!!!!
  9. Is DIET COKE out of the question? It's my source of caffeine.
  10. I want to know if you still have the sensation of being hungry (hunger pangs) after being banded. My problem has always been when I get hungry I forge for food.
  11. Hi Sandi, I'm from Crown Point too!! I orginally contacted Dr. Stanish's office to find out about the procedure. Sounded like they had you jumping through hoops before you got to see the doctor. I went to a DAY ONE seminar on March 10th and had an initial consult on March 26th. My pysch exam was scheduled for today but I postponed it after reading this website. I'm still considering it, but nervous. Keep me posted....we can fumble through this together.
  12. How many of you would have the band removed? I'm wondering if I should go through with the procedure?
  13. Ok, I'm getting nervous. I'm considering the procedure. Have the pysch interview on Friday! These stories are not sounding good. Someone please tell me I'm doing the right thing!
  14. I'm curious too...If you have problems or complications from this procedure, (being a self-pay) are the complications covered by insurance?
  15. What is SLIME?
  16. You look fairly young. I'm going to be 52 and have health issues. I have sleep apnea, plantar fasciitis, arthritis in feet, knees and back and still have two teenagers that I need to keep up with. I'd like to see my grandchildren, only if it is to give THEIR parents a hard time.LOL In this case would the difficulties be worth it?
  17. Are there any times when you regret your decisions?
  18. Thanks for the quick reply! I guess i just want to make sure that if in 6 months or 12 months I want something I've missed I can have a small taste and not get crazy about not having it. We all know diets don't work so I'm concerned about the life style change.
  19. I'm in the research mode of this process. I have had an initial consult with follow up appointments scheduled for Friday. I haven't scheduled a date for surgery yet, but I'm researching the nutrition portion of this process. Everyone seem so positive......are there any NEGATIVES that should be considered? I don't want to have to live on liquids or think of food or lack of consistently. What are the drawbacks? :help:
  20. I'm currently in research and development! I've had an initial consultation and I'm scheduled for a pysch consult on Friday and nutrition after that. I'm self pay so I will be able to have it quicker than an insurance prospect. My concern that no one has addressed is.......DO YOU MISS FOOD! I don't want to go through all of this if you have to live on liquid the rest of your life. Everyone seems so positive....any NEGATIVES I should be aware of?
