  1. My insurance will not pay because my bmi is less than 40. They will pay for hernia repair so I pay for the band but not entire procedure. A little less money out of pocket
  2. Day 8 of a two week protein shake diet and I went to go get an EGD. My throat hurts so bad that I can't even think about swallowing any type of shake. Thank goodness I have a hernia so insurance will pay for some of this. Next move is lap band on the 22nd. I am down 8 lbs. yay!!
  3. I am on day 7. I was so craving a hamburger yesterday that I sat in the parking lot of McDonald's for 20 minutes. Then I drove away drinking a protein shake. If I never see a shake after post op stage I couldn't be happier.
  4. Thanks Donna. I am a crystal light fanatic. My headaches are finally gone and I actually have energy. Today was a great day but ready to get this show on the road.
  5. My husband has been so supportive. I am on day 4 of pre op and he has taken to cooking and eating outside. Only ten more days to go. I think how much time I have wasted with this love affair of food. I think about it constantly and think of what else I could have been doing with my time. Honestly am I crying over pizza ? My goal is to not make food a constant thought.
  6. My surgery is Aug 22, my pre op started on the 8th. I doe shakes and clear liquid. And 6oz protein every three days.
  7. Day two down, a lot harder than 1. My husband says I am moody but how would he feel with no food. Off to sleep and make it I to day three. Thanks for all the support.
  8. Thank you for all the encouragement. It's day two early morning and I awoke with a nasty headache. I was a diet soda for caffeine drinker so I will have to get over that hurdle. Yes, my surgery is the 22nd. My pre op consists of protein shakes and clear liquids. I am a little afraid of my doctor so going off the beaten path is not an option. I worry that they will open me and not do the procedure. Everyone have a great day.
  9. I made it through day one. 13 more days to go. I am hoping this was the hardest. But I truly doubt that. I just need to keep my eye on the bigger picture.
  10. My first day of pre-op diet is tomorrow for two weeks. I am nervous but see the bigger picture. Wish me luck. Surgery is on the 22nd.
