Hey just want to check in I have been on my pre op diet which consists of two protein shakes one for breakfast one for lunch and meat and veggies for dinner since June 25th and I I was doing great until the holiday. I had some baked beans and potato salad! I am back on track today of course but one thing I noticed after my carb encounter yesterday was that during my morning workout I felt crappy!! It was so hard to get through my workout i mean it felt like i was exercising for the first time ever! So far I've lost 9lbs but I am going to definitely watch what I eat from now on.

I been thinking of a name for weeks for my sleeve. I am glad to see that many others thought that I was a good idea too ! BTW love some of the names already chosen especially the one named Sleevie Wonder!

Hi ladies I am having my surgery July 29th. Orginally planned on having the RNY on and was approved for it on July 29th but after doing more reasearch on what can happen to your body years after the procedure changed my mind on getting it done so i spoke with my surgeons office and they put in another request to my insurance carrier for the VSG and i was re approved two days later. On my lunch break today I go make final payment on my surgery.

it's good to know what to expect when I have the surgery. I been told that buyers remorse may occur cause so much is going on with recovery and getting back to normal and all.

I know you asked Isleevedit this question but I figured I would answer it since no has yet. Its a tube used you shape your sleeve. While you're under, the surgeon will slide a tube (bougie) down your throat to shape your new stomach. The most commonly used sizes 32,34,36,40 and even 50 french sized bougies. My surgeon told me he would use 36 sized on me to lesson the side effect of GERD
