I'm getting excited. Hubby (who is also a bandster from 2 years ago) took me out an got us each a new fitbit (logs your activity, sleep time, calories in and calories out. etc... and he got us the matching scale called the fitbit Aria and we have made a day of figiuring out our new toys, then going to a gym to work out, and out to eat for a cup of soup each. Then home in an effort to pull our house into the sanctuary we would like tot be when it gets close to our anniversary. I'm so happy. I love my life

6 days post op.. and, I swear on all that is holy.. the port pain is going to kill me. ugh!

Hey MaggieMay: Facebook will not allow me to send you another invite because I already sent you one a week or so ago, when I first created the page. Did you not get it in your email? If you cannot find the invitation I can make you a personal friend, on facebook, and then add you to the group that way. But, we have to be facebook friends first. I don't know what is wrong with the messaging system on this site. Lots of people have told me that they have sent me messages and I haven't gotten them. But, anyway.. you can try to private message me how to find you on facebook. OR.. you can friend me. If you copy and paste my name into the search, I will be easy to find. Hey all! Just want to let those of you that may not have heard that we also have a very good and VERY private group going on, on facebook. It's not meant to replace this at all.. it's just another resource. Personally, I like it. I feel like we've got a little family going on over there. Anyway, you can't search it because of the privacy settings. the only way to get in is to message me with either your email address or your facebook name. If I have to find you using your facebook name, I will have to add you as a personal friend before I'm able to add you to the community. Just thought I'd put it out there!

It's called an Incentive Spirometer and it is supposed to help prevent pneumonia (which is a risk right after surgery.. we tend to not move around as much or breathe as deeply).

By the way.. for those of you that haven't seen my post, we have a COMPLETELY private facebook group going on, for all of us July bandsters. It is turning out to be an extremely supportive and helpful group and, I invite all of you to give it a try. Nobody can search our group, or see our news feed or comments unless they are members of the group. The only way to be a member is to be invited by me. Maggie: I wouldn't worry about it just yet. Right now you're working on getting enough nutrition, protein, fluids. Since your menu choices are so limited, at the moment, seriously.. don't worry about it. Right now it's not about calories. It will be later.. but, for now, enjoy your tomato soup!

I'd like to be down by, at least, 30 lbs. by the new year. That's, roughly, 5 lbs. a month. I think that's doable. What do y'all think? I'm a displaced Texan living in the middle of nowhere Indiana. Ahhh.. The things we do for love! LOL

I had a radical hysterectomy about 3 weeks ago. I am having lap band next week. Any other girls out there who have had hysterectomy and a lap band? Did you notice any change in your sex drive or menopausal symptoms after you started losing weight? I cant take any hormones because the tumor they pulled out of me was a very low stage of cancer (not likely to spread.. but, still makes me ineligible for Estrogen). So, I'm curious as to how the weight loss might effect me.
