  1. First my face, shoulders, side arms. Now my belly, waist and hips. Oh and my wrist, which is weird.
  2. I had my surgery on a Wednesday and went back to work the following Tuesday. Realized I was still in pain and needed to continue taking pain meds and took that Wednesday off and returned to work full time on Thursday. I have a desk job. I would say you will need at least 7 days to recover. Tomorrow is my two week mark and I feel 100%.
  3. So today, I stopped by McDonalds to get my daughter something to eat. I was banded on July 3rd and have been having my doubts about the surgery. Doubts began when I couldn't imagine the "gas" pain ever going away. And today, up until my bad experience. Since my surgery a week and a half ago, I have lost 10-13 pounds, it fluctuates. I get discouraged because in my mind, I should be losing a pound a day (due to the low amount of calories I eat a day)but that is not happening. I felt like the surgery wasn't working. The gas pains have subsided and I feel basically 100%. So...I tried to eat not one but TWO of my daughters chicken McNuggets, quickly may I add. And guess what happened. I proved myself WRONG. The surgery HAS worked. I threw the nuggets up IMMEDIATELY! Needless to say, I am now a believer again and will be back on my post surgery diet ASAP! For all of you who have been recently banded, I have experimented for you and have tested the boundaries. DO NOT EAT ANYTHING OTHER THAN WHAT YOU ARE INSTRUCTED TO EAT! I guess the weight will come off once my body has healed?

    JULY 2013 BAND BUDDIES

Banded July 3rd and NO MORE GAS PAIN. Feeling great!
  5. Thank-you everyone for your words of encouragement. Yes, I did sign on to change my eating habits for life. "Gowalking" was right on. I need to stop weighing myself and have more realistic goals. I kind of relapsed and took on the habits I had while dieting "before" surgery. A way of life that created the weight gain in the first place. I will now focus on eating healthy and not the number on the scale. Believe me, I have learned my lesson and will never do it again. I do not want to end up in the hospital or cause a harm to my body!

    Not losing

I was banded on July 3rd. I have lost 10 pounds since my surgery and have the same thoughts you have concerning the weight loss. I get on the scale everyday expecting to see at least a 1 pound drop, yet the scale does not move. I am so discouraged as well. People tell me that Its only been a week and a half and that my body is healing. I feel that I barely eat as it is, how is the band going to help me. I hope this surgery wasn't all for nothing. I can say that people are noticing that my face, shoulder area and waist have slimmed down so I should be happy about that, I guess. Good luck to you!

    Not losing

I was banded on July 3 and this is the first true day that I have felt normal. At times the pain was so bad that I wished I could take back having the surgery. So the pain will go away, it is totally normal.

    Gas & pain

Hello, First I would like to say congrats! I was banded on July 3rd and the gas pain is the worst. The day after my surgery (yesterday) was so bad that I cried about going through with the surgery. I am going to take the advise others have given you and hope that it will get better soon. Especially the advise to take the meds and sleep until its bearable and to sleep sitting up. I wish you much success!
