Any March 2021 Sleeve Patients?
I had my surgery Feb 18th. It was a struggle for first 3 weeks, but now that I can enjoy some food it has become easier. I am down 32 lbs. I like to make my own chicken broth, has so much more flavor than cans. Yes, I know it has more fat & calories, but you need something in your stomach to make it happy. I do also have Bryers non fat fudge bars..this soothes my stomach. Water: at first I was sipping small amounts as directed. I am able to drink large amounts as long as there is no food to push it down and stretch stomach. I verified with my Dr. So basically I flavor my water with sugar free crystal light, lemonade country time and can easily drink 8-12 oz in 30 minutes if I wanted to. I am now eating sautéed soft fish with spinach. It digest well when your at 5 weeks. Poke is a good one too cuz it will digest, Cottage Cheese, scrambled eggs topped with tsp of non fat Greek yogurt. You can do it. It will be worth your suffering. ?

Any March 2021 Sleeve Patients?
Tried to drink regular coffee and my stomach didn't agree with it. Had little cramping and indigestion. I'm on my 3rd week so I may try next week again.

Foods After Surgery That Used To Be a No-No
Wow 1400 calories from postoperative day 1? That tells me why I am hungry. Clearly not eating enough calories. I think once I'm able to eat solid foods I will have no problem with my hunger. Thanks for sharing

Foods After Surgery That Used To Be a No-No
Right now I am around 300- 500 calories a day at the most. I drink 2 bone broth @45 calories a piece- one for lunch, the other dinner, jello sugar free for snack. And for breakfast, I drink protein shake, which I need to increase more oz. I also am drinking a lot of water which I don't see to feel that restriction. Maybe I need to drink more. Thanks for your imput, much appreciated. Barbie41

Thanks for your response. I am just going week 2. I am feeling really hungry right now and know I can't consume any regular food right now until at least 6-8 weeks. I have another question if you don't mind. Right now I'm drinking a lot of water. I don't feel any restriction at all, so I don't know if I should drink until I throw up to know my tolerance. I'm suppose to drink at least 64 oz, but should take all day.

Any March 2021 Sleeve Patients?
Hi, I just had the sleeve Feb 18, 21, so not a March surgery but can relate to you. I too had a lapband that slipped and removed. My pre-op diet consisted of two protein shakes and one regular dinner meal 4 Oz of protein w steamed vegetable. Now I am on clear liquids broth with incorporating water all day. Little sips at a time. I drink a little Atkins protein shake for nutrition. I also eat a jello that takes me all day to eat. I have loss 20 lbs already and don't fell hungry at all. Hope all goes well for you.
