  1. I'm 5'8" in a 22/24 I'm currently about 345lbs blah!!!! When I was 17 I put myself on a strict diet and exercise program and got to about 175 in a size 10. But soon after got pregnant and only went up from there. My PCOS plays a big part in it too though! I hope you and your boyfriend beat the odds too!! And I love the idea of buying an outfit in the size you want to be at. Awesome motivation!!!
  2. Amen to that! Lol my boyfriend is being very supportive. He obviously loves me no matter what shape or size but while going on our evening walks I've been window shopping at local hometown stores going... "Some day I could wear that dress... Or that shirt... Or those pants!!" Lol I keep telling myself "had I done all this research and paper work last year I'd be there already!" I'm ready to start my "new" life!!
  3. Yay!! It's such a long process. But I too am hoping that I can find a way to my new life a little sooner
  4. I'm 25 and just starting out as well! I also have a seminar tomorrow. Want to be buddies?? Haha
  5. Wonderful idea. She's attending the seminar with me!!
  6. I already experience dumping from having my gallbladder removed and its horrible.. Beyond horrible!! It controls my life in fact. I had to quit my landscaping job to become a stay at home mom
  7. My mom works with a lady who had lap band done and decided to ask her some questions about how and why she chose lap band and a bunch of other stuff. The lady told her about some horror stories (the lady that got lap band is also a nurse). Anywhoo, now my mom wants me to switch to lap band because the recovery is easier and the risks are lower and you loose weight slower so she thinks I won't cause so much excess skin and losing weight slower is healthier.... She's the one that planted the seed in my head in the first place and now she's taking it back. If I don't have her support I don't know what I will do because I was iffy about GBP in the first place...
  8. Is that located in the toilet paper section??
  9. I share alot of the same feelings and I'm only in the very beginning stages.
  10. Thank you so much. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one with these hesitation!
  11. I'm so excited and scared and irritated all at the same time. I know this is the best/last choice for me but I'm so scared at how much I'm letting my LOVE for food affect my judgement! I wouldn't say I am an emotional eater although I am getting emotional about eating lol. But food itself is a passion for me. I always told my self I wanted to go to culinary school but a baby at 18 to support and then more weight gain then my PCOS returned with a vengeance. baby number 2 came and it never happened. So my love of cooking is now focused on my 2 children and boyfriend and the togetherness it brings my family! I want so badly to escape this tomb of a body I'm in.... Why is this so hard?! I know I will with out a doubt have this surgery granted I full fill all requirements and insurance allows. I just wish my brain would get on board with my heart
  12. I called my insurance company this morning and they said it is 12 months supervised weigh ins from a doctor and I have to join weight watchers nutrasystem or something comparable for the 12 months. I will only have my insurance until October of this year. But I have secondary state Medicaid which only requires 6months of weigh ins and weight watchers... Now to decide to cancel my bcbs now and start the process or wait until October..
  13. Good luck! My insurance is going to send me through the biggest hurdles EVER! You are not alone!
  14. Such positive attitudes supportive advice and understanding!! I am greatly missing that from my everyday life! Thank you everyone!! I know I will have more questions after Monday! I'm attending a local seminar on gastric bypass to get the ball rolling!!
  15. Anyone miss sitting down and sharing a meal with their families/significant others?? My kids pry won't even notice if I'm not eating but my boyfriends like "we'll I guess I won't get to take you out to dinner anymore". I tried to ease his mind by saying we could just share cause i would only need a few bites... He wasn't amused lol!
  16. That's comforting! thank you!
  17. How bad is the pain after surgery? I've had 2 children.. I'm not virgin to pain I just want to know what to expect
  18. Good point.. I have to keep reminding myself of this!
  19. Does everyone who has had this surgery get the excess skin? Anyone lucky enough to have awesome skin??
  20. I have bcbs Michigan. It's the only one that says 12 months! Blah!! My bmi is 52.
  21. Did you have to jump through a bunch of hoops to get the process started?? I have bcbs insurance their website says for gastric bypass I have to do a weight loss program monitored by a dr for 12 months before they will approve the surgery.. Has anyone else had to do this?
