  1. I'm really new to this, but it looks like I could potentially be banded in July or August. My seminar was May 6. My insurance requires me to lose 10% prior to submission of approval. So, right now I'm in the process of losing that along with the other requirements.
  2. My insurance specialist mentioned that I would have to lose 10% of my body weight as one of the criteria before insurance would accept me. I have BCBS TN, has anyone else had to do this? I called my insurance but the rep would not give me answer she said go to a meeting a they will tell me. My meeting is Monday May 6! So I will find out more then!
  3. Thank you all for the timely replies. I can tell this forum is a great place to talk and get advice! I will call my insurance today after school. I live in Murfreesboro, Tn, where I am going to school at MTSU to become a 4-8 Math teacher. Hearing that BCBS is the easiest insurance company really gives me hope. I am excited about this journey I hope that my insurance will cover it, but I am going to do all I can to get this surgery.
  4. I'm just starting my lap band journey. I am going to the seminar Monday, May 6, 2013. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield of TN. Does anyone have this insurance and have any advise? I keep searching for the criteria for insurance to cover this procedure, but I am unable to find anything. If my insurance does not cover this procedure I want to finance this surgery. Has anyone done that, if so what is the criteria for that? Any information about this process is appreciated. I've been reading a lot, and watching YouTube.
