  1. I was banded on April 11. It's been an okay journey thus far. My biggest wish is for the diarrhea to stop. My question is... I think I have located my port (I see the doc on Wednesday so I'll know for sure then). I think the port is almost smack in the middle of my belly, about 3 inches above my belly button and slightly to the left (I'm very tall so this is nowhere near my bra line). I can see and feel a lump under my incision. Is that the port? Can anyone else see their port? I have some belly fat but I gain weight all over, so my stomach is not excessively fatty. I'm afraid that when I lose weight, the port will be even more noticeable and might even be seen under some shirts. Any advice or comments are welcome. Thank you for your help <3
  2. I was banded on April 11. I was a self pay too. The nice thing about that is, you get rushed through the process but the bad thing about that is, you get rushed through the process. I have a panic disorder so I understand the nerves thing really well. I told my anesthesiologist and he gave my a shot that put me in lala land well before my surgery. I will tell you that the surgery wasn't that big of a deal. It's painful but it's not excruciating. You'll be able to walk around almost as soon as you get out of surgery. Most of the pain is over in the first week. I'm 9 days out and I'm sore but it's not stopping me from working or taking care of my kids. The pre op diet is truly the worst part, so if you can make it through that you'll be golden. Good Luck and congratulations!!!
  3. You are giving me hope. My shoe size went from a size 10 to an 11. A size 11 foot is a nightmare because it is impossible to get shoes. I hope when I lose weight I will be back in my tens.
  4. Walk, walk walk. I had my surgery just over a week ago and it was more painful than I expected. I took the advice I got after my c-sections which is very simple - keep moving. I stopped the pain killers after day two and just kept waddling around the house and sitting up in a chair. The worst part for me is sleeping because I'm a belly sleeper but after day 4 could sleep on my side. Good Luck. I hope your pain gets better soon.
  5. I'm 9 days post op and I'm still on liquids. My doc doesn't start the mushy foods until next week. Maybe just take it easy on your tummy and keep your foods super mushy.
  6. I'm 9 days post op and my stomach is growling so loud, I scared my cat. I'm afraid to take anything for the runs because I keep hearing that constipation is a big issue. It's also usually my issue, but since my surgery, I have been running to the bathroom. I have quite a ways to go before I can eat solid food. I have been taking chewable fiber tablets but they are not doing anything. Does this eventually stop?
