  1. Welcome back i am pretty new to this board but followed your thread since i to have the rny vs vsg battle. Even though I'am 95% sure i want the sleeve!!
  2. Mswanson, do you mind sharing what were the things that he found that made him steer you to bypass?
  3. Hi Erin and everyone!! Reading the OP post i to felt i was reading my thoughts my story. I am due to be sleeved May 14 this was delayed from April due to H pylori and possible GERD ( im getting a second endo) i have always yo yo dieted and have only been skinny once in my life and it lasted like 2 years i quickly gained back the 100+ pounds i lost, thanks to handy dandy diet pills!! My nut and surgeon are pushing the rny due to my high bmi (50) and my "binge eating" i don't feel comfortable and am trying my hardest to work on all these issues. It sad but I've come to realize that no matter what this will be an ongoing battle and at 25 i hope to have 70plus years to beat it!!!
  4. He is a great surgeon, I think his main concern is the weight loss as In my six month pre-op ive gained weight rather than lost. I did great during my swallow test it wasn't until the endoscopy the found Gerd i didn't even know i had it. I'am think of joining OA to nip this over eating in the butt!! I think my BMI is 51 not sure.
  5. I feel the same way as most of you like an uneasy feeling towards the Rny. He is trying to use my bmi, reflux and over eating as reasons i should have the bypass but just as all those things can jeopardize the sleeve they can make me regain with the rny so i feel i need to make changes and work hard period. Mostly my nut is the one who is concerned.
  6. Thank you all for you words of encouragement! I have researched and the sleeve is what i feel most comfortable with. As far as the Gerd Ive heard many who've had rny and have horrible reflux. Its just I'm scared my over eating will get the best of me.
  7. I have yet to be sleeved my surgeon says that due to my high bmi the sleeve might not be the best (that and my Gerd) but i read here many who lose tons of weight!! I currently weigh 320 and my goal would be 165 is that really impossible with the sleeve?
  8. Your weight loss is amazing!!! I'm looking to get sleeved and pray i have similar results.

  12. Hi Rose it looks like i will be getting sleeved in May also if all goes well!!!
  13. Today I got the go from my insurance!!! This is one of the things I was losing sleep over. Now I just have to worry about convincing my surgeon i can be successful with the sleeve. He think my binge eating will get in the way.
