  1. Hi Summer, I was banded 5/2/13. Couple things I can tell you. Drink lots of Water after, walk walk walk. The gas pain killed me. Some people do fine. The water and walking will help. For me, the band is 99% mind over body. It's a mental challenge daily but gets easier in time. Follow the eating guidelines and do not deviate. I have a friend whom I met at my drs office prior to us being banded. She throws up daily because she doesn't follow the rules of the road with the band. Has you asked me 2 weeks out from surgery I would have said I questioned my decision. Now, over 3 months. Best decision I've ever made. Good luck to you!!! Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  2. I had surgery May 2. Lost 18 pounds so far. But now I'm able to eat a little more than I would think I should. Getting a full next week. I hope they can find that happy spot so I continue losing. I haven't weighed myself since Monday because I'm afraid I didn't lose anymore. It's definitely true what they say. The dr put the band around your stomach. Not your mouth and brain. Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  3. I'm soooo much better now! Hope everyone's feeling better too! Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  4. I went back on day 4 and was super weak. It was too soon for me. I lasted 2 hours and came home. I know how you're feeling. This is the worst part. The weakness and I had the gas pain bad too. Don't push it if you don't have too. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  5. How often are you taking the strips?? Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  6. I'm 8 days banded and the gas pain recently started on day 5. It's on my left side and left shoulder. Initially it was so bad it brought me to tears. It's gotten a little better however it's constant. I've read a lot about the pain coming and going. Mine never leaves. Anyone else have this problem?? Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  7. I am glad I'm not the only one feeling my mind playing with me. Banded May 2nd and super weak and lightheaded. Frustrated because I'm not used to this and questioning if I made the right decision. I know I did, and it helps so much to hear others stories. Thank you!!!! Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  8. I love reading all the positive comments that everyone says. It's inspiring. I had to do my sleep study last night at home and have another night tonight. I looked like a big dork with that head gear on! ha ha. I start my pre op protein drinks tomorrow. It's going to be a test of will for sure! But I know it will be worth it. I'm so glad I found all of you on here! Thanks for sharing your lives!
  9. I'm new here. I have my date for 3/21. Super excited and nervous. Several people trying to talk me out of it. But I'm ready.
