  1. Insurance approved me! now I am curious to see what everyone did pre-diet. Did you have that last bowl of Pasta? that last 40 oz soda? or did you start right away with the restriction. I start my 3 day liquid on the 25th! Also! I'm curious, What last minute questions should I ask my doctor? I see him tomorrow and then not again until surgery Aug 28. I AM TERRIFIED! never had surgery! man oh man.
  2. Hello all! I am curious about the 6 mo diet, I have my weigh in tomorrow morning for my 5th month. I am concerned that I will have gained a pound or two. My start weight was 274 and currently I am at 264. My weigh in last month was 262. Has anyone been declined due to weight gain like this?? I have not planned on it, but should i try laxatives to get those two pounds off? I would DIE if i got declined for a stupid 2 lbs weight gain. Any information about The 6 Mo supervised diet would be greatly appreciated!
  3. Hey all! i am hoping for guidance and understanding with this post. I have been on my 6 mo. Dr. supervised diet now for 4 months and with this last month I have jump started myself a little bit and have lost 10 lbs. I AM CONFUSED, this is the first time i have lost weight semi-consistently ( did not more than 1-2 lbs the 3 months prior). Its giving me 2 critical thoughts 1. Should I have lap band since i'm able to lose currently 2. Am I only losing weight because i'm excited about the lap band, and if i don't get it, will this fade like many other diets i've tried. Did anyone else go through feelings or pre weight loss like this? Thanks everyone who responds! Its so appreciated Have a great day!
  4. Went to my surgeon for my first visit yesterday, he broke the news to me, my insurances requires a 6 month doctor supervised diet. So in my ride home I call and get a doctors appointment scheduled for today, and my doctor pulled out the tricks, because I went in February for suggestions about the lap band he considers that MONTH 1, and today was considered MONTH 2...soooo 4 MONTHS from now I will be joining the club! I look forward to this 4 months to try and get my good eating habits in check (small bites, no liquids with meals, ect) Any advise or thoughts anyone thinks I should know are always welcome, I love all of your opinions!

  7. Phen made me into a hulk grinch! I snapped at everyone for everything! The small weightless I had was not worth my mood swings and the terror I put on my family! P.S. I took phen with no band, doctor prescribed, with a decent dose! Goodluck with what ever you choose!
  8. Thank you everyone for responding with such an intent to educate, it is so helpful to have a large group of people who don't judge for over asked questions or questions that may seem unnecessary to some! I learned so much and i hope everyone else was equally enlightened! Thank you!!!!
  9. The only thing small about that weight loss is your waist! 48 is HUGE! Congrats

  11. Hello! In the process of getting the lap band currently and have been snooping around for information. I noticed that most everyone says no drinks while eating (because it allows you to eat more). What is the protocol for drinking before you eat? does it make you eat less, the same, or more? Does having a drink after you eat just make you hungry again? I have always been a big drink person during all of my meals. curious as to having drinks before or after meals and how it effects you! Thanks for your answers!! Have a great day!
  12. HELLO THERE! Does anyone have an idea on how long it takes for the surgeon and team to replay when you send in your initial screening information? Also how long in general did it take from first doctor contact to surgery day for you and what set backs or push forwards? THANK YOU!!!

  14. HELLO EVERYONE!!! My name is Christa i am 20 years old and have been sadly overweight since i turned 14. I am a very active person with a horrible appetite that has led me to over eating when I am alone. I have over the years tried numerous weight loss attempts ex: Weight Watchers , Gym membership , Weight loss supplements , Doctor controlled diet , prescribed diet pills , exercise groups , and even a personal trainer. I don't want to go trough my 20's living like I am. I want so badly to feel youthful during my youth. And never be held back from a camping trip because of swimming. My insurance recently approved for me to have Lap Band surgery and i have my eye set on a surgeon ( J. Christopher Eagon, MD) out of Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis MO I would like to know others experiences good or bad on lap band. Also what will i need to expect on this long journey ( Tips tricks ) From before surgery to during surgery to after surgery. Thanks everyone in advance!!!
