  1. Wow! I can't believe people are talking about going to weddings and parties and shopping in the first days after surgery! Good for you! I had mine 5 days ago on the 5th and while I consider myself pretty lucky --no vomiting or nausea -- the bloating and my sore belly have kept me uncomfortable enough to keep me at home braless moving from bed to couch! To texgal, don't be discouraged --everyone's experience is different and we're all here looking for the kind of possibilities that this procedure can offer us. Someone I spoke to before the surgery told me that I needed to believe that I deserved a solution and this is a good solution. But yes, we all know this is no easy fix -- it requires motivation and committment.
  2. Hey Holly, happy birthday! You sound great and very ready to take on the challenge. I had my surgery 3 days ago. I'm hanging in there. I'm going to look for the Isopure drinks you mention -- I'm getting pretty bored with Slimfast. How did your sister stretch out her pouch? Running marathons! Wow! It's hard to imagine not arriving home winded from climbing the stairs. The possibilities are very exciting! Where will you be having your surgery?
  3. Thanks. When are you scheduled to be banded? Where will you have your surgery?
  4. Thanks -- that's reassuring -- and makes sense. I think it's a good idea to avoid the scale for awhile - I can get obsessive! How are you feeling?
  5. Sure helps to read about other people's experiences! I was banded 2 days ago -- I'm feeling pretty good. My stomach is sore and bloated but I can get myself up and around. Is it the swelling that has my scale telling me I've gained 5 pounds since the surgery?!
  6. I had the surgery 2 days ago and overall, I'm feeling pretty good. Sore belly and feeling kind of bloated but getting myself up and moving. Here's my question --- I lost about 11 pounds on the pre-surgery diet and I've eaten hardly anything in the last few days -- why does my scale say I'm 5 pounds heavier than my day of surgery weight??? I'm encouraged that I don't feel hungry --- but I'm discouraged by the scale! Has anyone experienced this?
