How much protien 5 days out?
- How much protien 5 days out?
How much water and protien were you able to get in 5 days out? I'm only getting 20oz water and maybe 20 grams of protein. Does that sound normal? I have no desire to drink another shake :/- What brand of scale do you use?
Thank you everyone. I appreciate all the input.- What brand of scale do you use?
I need a digital scale. Any ideas on a good one for a decent price? Thanks Amanda- sleevers in Chicago southland

Why am I so nervous all of a sudden? My surgery is in 7 days, but feel like in making a big mistake. I've wanted this for so long! Im sure a lot of people feel this way. I guess I'm just looking for reassurance.- How much did you lose on your 2 week preop diet?
I'm in my first day preop and I'm STARVING! I'm allowed 2 shakes and one 4 oz protein and 1/2 cup green veggies. In between I can have 2 servings of each: broth, jello & Popsicles (sugar free of coarse)- sleevers in Chicago southland
I'm from Joliet and getting sleeved May 13th with Dr Joyce at Silver Cross. I'm currently 229 5'4 BMI 41- Just got my date!
May 13th here, and congrats on your date!- How did you prepare?
My date for surgery is May 13th. Any tips on how I should prepare my home? What did you bring to the hospital? Thanks Amanda- Developing acid reflux after VSG
I will definitely talk to him about this, I just wonder what long term acid production will do to the sleeve over the years. I will be scheduling my surgery as soon as I get my pulmonary appointment cleared, so I'm guessing it will be scheduled mid May.- Developing acid reflux after VSG
Has anyone developed acid reflux after surgery? I have been doing more research and I'm finding that the longer you have been sleeved the more prone you are to having esophageal issues. What I am finding is roughly 25% of patients are getting this and the number may grow the longer you have the sleeve. Is this true for anyone? My biggest concern is esophageal cancer. How are you feeling? I was approved last week, but I still need to go to the pulmonologist before I can set the date. How long did you take off work? Amanda- Joliet Illinois-Dr. Joyce
- Approved!
- Approved!
I was approved yesterday by UHC, but as soon as I got the OK, I got a sick feeling. Did anyone else feel that way? I dont have a date yet, because I still have to go to the pulmonoligist per the surgeon's requirements. I will be going on vacation to Nuevo Vallarta at the end of March, so I will schedule my surgery beginning of may. Are any hair stylists here that have had the surgery? How long did you take off? I'm hoping only a week, but will take 2 if needed. Did everyone need someone to be home with them post op? I just don't want my partner to have to take a lot of time off of work. I want to thank everyone here for all the great info I have read, it has answered most of the questions and concerns I have had. Amanda- Flu Shot
- Flu Shot
Did your surgeon require a flu shot before surgery? I have only had one flu shot in my life, and I don't really want to get another one. Amanda- Help! New to site. Denied. UHC Employer Lifetime Max $15k? 5+yrs history

Just waiting for United Health Care approval. If anyone has seen Dr. Joyce, I'd to hear your experience with him. Amanda- Inner Thighs - Ick!

My dermatologist gave me an antibiotic when they get really bad. I have also heard the Botox shots in the affected area can also help. They have left a lot of scaring from the acne like bump under the arms and groin. Tanning seems to help too, the sun and uv lights have a germicidal effect on the bumbs, and dries them out.Tunneling is also a sign of hidradenitis. I'm wondering if insurance will cover a breast lift and a tummy tuck due to the break outs where my skin rubs together. Amanda- Inner Thighs - Ick!
I wasn't sure, if that was considered a form of hidradenitis,I do have the accesses and they suck! I jus hope it lessens after my surgery. Thanks for the clarification. Amanda- Inner Thighs - Ick!
Research hidradenitis, its an uncurable skin condition. My dermatologist diagnosed me with it. The more weight I have gained the worse it got. Sounds like you guys have a mild to moderate case, if thats what you have. I have had it since puberty and its very embarrassing. I have it under my arms and under my breasts as well. . It can be very mild to very severe in some cases. Some of the images are pretty graphic. There is too much info to list, but if you google it, there is a lot of info. My dermatologist suggested I put 1/4 cup of bleach in the tub and soak for 20 mins. Pretty much the same thing as the chlorine in a swimming pool. Hope this helped. Amanda- Untitled Album
