  1. The absolute best thing about those pictures... Your big gorgeous smile. You can tell how incredibly happy you are and that speaks volumes! Congrats on your success!
  2. It gets better new girl. I posted earlier how crappy I was feeling. My husband went and got me Ensure clear peach flavored drink. Has vitamins and protein in it. Has to be the clear liquid at this stage. I am more awake now and actually feeling a lot better just from a few hours ago. I had difficulty drinking at first too. It will get better. Just don't make the mistake I did and think that you will be fit as a fiddle 3 days later. We are all different. Pay attention to your body. Lean on your support system. They will help you through. Post here whenever you need a little help. Everyone here has been great.
  3. i am 4 days post op right now. Tomorrow is 5 days. I feel like crap. I am weak and tired. My belly is still swollen and i still have to have help when I stand up sometimes. The port area pulls a little bit when I stand. I can walk fine on my own and really not in any pain. However, I feel like I had a major bout of flu. That hit by a truck feeling has not left me yet. I would just wait and see how you feel. I am sure people will understand if you are not feeling up to a party. Also, depending on who's party it is, if you are feeling crappy you run the risk of taking away attention from the birthday boy/girl. If people are making sure you are ok they arent paying attention to the reason for the party. Just above all listen to your body and take care not to over do it. If you feel up to it, go. But just make sure you are doing the best for you.
  4. I am so glad you are all doing better. Congrats on your surgery date. You know you are strong enough for this and can accomplish anything after what you have been through in the past year. Keep up updated! I am so excited for you.
  5. Hi! I was banded on the 11th. I am still on liquids too. The only time I had a problem with this is when my husband and kids were having pizza for dinner and I was having chicken broth. I dont even like pizza. I think it was the smell that was getting to me. It has gotten a little easier since then. The only problem I am having right now is being constantly tired. Hang in there! I am told it gets better! Congrats on your band!
  6. Congrats! What a big step you are taking for yourself! I will light a candle and say a prayer for your swift recovery.
  7. That is awesome that your friend also had the plication. I have not talked to many who have. I would love to see how she is doing. I am still very scared. I needed this surgery badly but I am still scared. I am glad to have found this board. The stories here are giving me hope.
  8. My post op diet is 2 weeks clear, 2 weeks full, then on to the mushy stuff for 2 weeks. I also had the plication done at the same time so i have to be really careful not to put too much in at once. Once the sutures heal in 2 weeks I should be able to move on to fuller liquids. i do hope the worst is over. I have not had any of my pain meds today. i tend to not like them. I might take a dose at bedtime. I am having a hard time deciding if I am in pain or hungry. For instance, I just almost gave in to take some meds but my 14 yr old made me some decaf hot tea. As soon as the warm hit me the pain went away. Has anyone else had that? Warm makes you feel better? And Steph04 that is awesome that we were banded same day. Good luck in your journey! Thank you all for the warm welcome!
  9. Hello all, I am newly banded as of January 11th. I am still recovering. Not really hungry at all and making myself drink when I am supposed to. I have gone through every emotion I think I could so far. Today is only the 3rd day out so I am hopeful it will get easier. I miss food. I can deal without it but I would really like to chew something. I am tired of drinking broth. I research all the weight loss surgeries for the past five years or more. I am happy that I finally have taken the leap to do this. I am just hoping that I am strong enough. I just wanted to say hello and wish everyone great success with their bands.
