  1. I'm three days post-op and have had 4 episodes of hiccups. I'm only on Clear liquids so the "soft stop" you all are talking about must be for liquids too. I'm so darn thirsty all the time, sometimes I forget to slow down. I'm taking small sips but because of the hiccups, maybe I'm just taking in too much at one time. Thanks everyone for helping solve this mystery for me.
  2. I too am 36 hours out of surgery. Not sure if this pain in my stomach is gas, incision, or hunger. I've been icing but I may try heat. Walking walking walking has helped with the gas in my shoulders but doing nothing for the gas in my tummy. When does the belly bloating go away? Despite the pain, I am super hopeful and excited to start my new banded life...
  3. Oooo I know how you feel. Its my Second day post op and I woke to a sore sore tummy. And a raw throat. when does all this gas go away? the throat is from the breathing tube from surgery and ice cold sf Popsicles help a ton. All things considering this isn't too band. Hello new life.
  4. I'm officially a bandster! Surgery was great but too much 'happy juice' so I slept almost all day. Walked to get rid of gas and it worked! Thanks to all for your posts...it really helped to know what to expect.
  5. What an inspiration you are Lee. Just what I needed to read before my surgery tomorrow . Thanks!,
  6. I'm Tuesday the 22nd! Yeah. New life begins...
  7. 6 days and counting...lost another 2 pounds on my pre op diet today! I made a 'vision board' of old pics of me at goal weight and how i want to look a year from now! strong, fit, confident, healthy! Strong is the new skinny... Congrats to all the new bandsters this week!
  8. Would love that Bar2373! Best of luck tomorrow and let us know how your doing when you feel up to posting! My thoughts will b with u tomorrow!
  9. My day is Tuesday the 22nd and would love to keep in touch with everyone banded in January to share experiences, motivate each other and lend support. I chose not to tell any friends because I have not one who is remotely overweight and I didn't think any of them would understand my struggle. My mom and husband are the only one's who know and it's very lonely not shareing all of this with more people. Congratulations and Good Luck to all the January Bandsters!!
  10. I was confused too. Everyone kept talking about the liquid diet before sugery but my doc only has me on an "atkins type" diet for 2 weeks pre-op. I'm on a 1,200 calorie no sugar, no bread, no 'white food', no alcohol. 20-50 grams of carbs (mainly from veggies). When I asked my doc he said it was because I didn't have any co-morbidities and in overall good health. Ask your doc before changing your pre-op diet though. Good luck! I'll be going in a week before you so I'll let you know how it is!
  11. water water water helps those detox headaches go away! Stick to it soon2bsmall! I hear it makes the surgury go so much smoother. This is day 5 for my pre-op diet. 8 days to go until my surgery. I'm stocking my cupboards and fridge with everything I need to be successful for the week following surgery. Does anyone have suggestions on brands for sf popsicles? Any other suggestions for the week of clear liquids would be great too!
