  1. Thanks ladies! I have some G2 Gatorade I will give it a try.
  2. I was banded Wed. & was told before surgery that I was dehydrated. I am now 2 days post op & I am positive that I am still dehydrated. I was instructed for the first 48 hrs after surgery to only drink 1/8 cup of water every hour. Today I moved to more fluids, broths, etc.. I am physically exhausted. I called my surgeons office & was told to push fluids. If I am no better tomorrow I am probably going to Urgent Care...maybe they will give me fluids. The gas pains are minimal & the port incision is pretty sore. Ugh!!! Hoping for a better day tomorrow.
  3. My husband & I both hunt, I'm actually in the shooting house right now. Lol! I was banded yesterday & I'm off work until Tues. so I might as well have fun while I can. We really enjoy deer. We have not bought beef in years! We use our deer meat just like beef. If the deer is processed correctly it is very tender. I'm just counting down the days until I can finally have real food.
  4. Has anyone used deer meat instead of beef? We never buy beef at our house & I've always heard deer is very lean with lots of protein.
  5. Surgery went great & I have very little soreness between my upper stomach & breast bone. I think it's just a small gas bubble. I would say my worse pain is my throat from the breathing tube & its not terrible. I have no complaints at all at this point. Truly blessed by how simple & hurt free my surgery was:) I did find out yesterday that I received an 11cc band & I think he put a little fill in during surgery. I asked when I had just gotten back to recovery & to say I was still loopy @ that point is an understatement. I remember asking though. I just wished I could be certain about the answer lol. I will ask today when they call to check on me:)
  6. I was also banded yesterday. My dr prescribed liquid pain med but my daily meds are still pill form. They are small so I'm taking them as usual. Just wondering what your first 48 hr instructions were...I'm on 1/8 of a cup of liquid per hour & that's it. I think I could drink a gallon of unsweetened tea!!!
  7. Surgery was today. Aside from the nausea everything went great. I have small amounts of liquids for the next 48 hours then liquids, liquid yogurt, etc. So excited & ready for a new me:)
  8. At the clinic waiting to be called back for my banding!!!
  9. Thanks so much everyone! I am so excited. I have to be at the clinic at 8am & mine is outpatient. How long do the surgery usually take?
  10. I am scheduled tomorrow @ 8am!!! I am so excited. Last weigh in was today...down 18 lbs in 2 wks. Ready to be a band steer:)
  11. Day 12 of my liquid diet. Down 17 lbs. tomorrow is weigh in & Wed is band day:) 10 lbs away from Onederland!!!!! Hallelujah!!!!!
  12. Wednesday cannot get here soon enough!!! 2 wks of liquids pre-op, 10 days post op.... Ugh I am tired of liquids!!! I am ready for some grits, oatmeal or soup. Something with taste. Once I am banded I hope everything goes by a little quicker.
  13. I am a commercial lender with a local bank. I specialize in Small Business lending with a focus on agribusiness lending. I work with branches in Louisiana & Mississippi. I have been banking for 12+ years & absolutely love it. My favorite job is chasing my 2 boys!!
  14. I am 6 days away from my actual surgery date:) I am so excited. I have been on the liquid diet since the 2nd. I will say I have cheated once (on day 3 or 4) ...2 bites of chicken casserole, I felt so guilty afterwards I wanted to cry. I have stuck to it religiously besides the one weak moment. My family has eaten as usual & I have even went through fast food lanes & grabbed them food. I stayed focus by reminding myself that if the end result of eating is being satisfied then choose the protein shake or broth instead of cheating & being unhealthy. I still have hunger pangs at times but am learning that many of those are short lived. I learned through Weight Watchers that a craving only lasts 5-10 minutes so change your focus & the craving will pass. I will remain on the liquid diet for 7-10 days post op in order for my body to heal. I will then be released for soft foods. I am getting more excited with each passing day!!! I am down 10 lbs in 9 days & I know this is just the beginning!
  15. I am on day 8 of the pre-op. I also doubted myself but knew I needed to take this step for a better, healthier me. Just because you are doubting yourself doesn't mean you're not 100% committed. I'm 200% committed but I still have the "what if" thoughts. I stop & remind myself that I am ready for the challenge! We will all have our ups & downs but with each challenge a lesson can be learned:) Come on Jan 16th!!!!
  16. I am also hypothyroid. My dr has not said there will be a problem w/ swallowing the meds:) Has your dr mentioned any concerns with slower weight loss due to the hypothyroid?
  17. Well day 5 of pre-op diet down. Down to single digit countdown until my surgery on the 16th! Today has been much better. I have not missed food as badly. I even made my boys pizza for lunch & didn't mind having my broth. I have been somewhat emotional....stressed, moody, sad. Is this normal? Maybe my nerves are just getting to me. I'm not scared of the surgery just the fear of failing. I am paying out of pocket which makes me even more determined but I have struggled with my weight my entire life:( I just want to be healthier for myself & my precious family. My dad passed at 49 & he was my best friend. I don't want to leave my boys behind early in life. I strongly believe God determines our time on Earth but I also believe we need to choose a healthy life while here. Goodness, I just need to pull myself together!
  18. I will only be on liquids 7-10 days post op. I will step off my soap box & allow each of you whom have longer post ops liquids to gladly step up:) Bless it, I thought 24 days was bad.
  19. Oh how I wished I could actually chew food right now. I wonder why each doc uses a different diet. Mine in liquids only! Broth, water, unsweetened tea, G2Gatorade, sugar free Popsicles, Italian Ice-Sugar free & the most solid food I can have is Jell-0:/ Nothing carbonated, which that has never been an issue with me though:) I see some posts where docs allow certain foods. I guess this post is just a jealousy rant. Lol!
  20. I'm new to the site & will be banded Jan 16th:) Can someone please tell me what PBing means?
