  1. Re: choice of where to have the surgery. I'm down here in the Antelope Valley and went through 12 week course, which I am glad I did. When I finished my course I met with a Doctor to make sure everything was in balance. Blood, vitamins etc. At that point I was given the option of having the surgery anywhere in the Kaiser network. The catch to where you / I choose is, you must have all your post checkups by same place/Doctor for the first year. Me personally, I have done everything Kaiser has asked of me. Meet surgeon here in Palmdale, Ca. on Jan. 10th 2012. If everything is in order the surgery will be roughly a month to six weeks out. Several people in my class chose to go to Bakersfield (3 surgeons), Ventura, and other places down by Los Angeles. I chose Palmdale because it's home, but mainly because, Dr. Yadagar has an awesome reputation. He / his office sent me a packet which had his personal stats vs the nations. Plus, his website, facebook, twitter etc.. The man is very personable. Extremely good bed side manner.
  2. I have two coworkers who both had the Bypass and both eat things they and I were told we'd never be able to eat again. One is 9 months out while the other is about 11 months. I've witnessed both of them eatting chocolate at different times. I've watched one of them eat a whole Kitkat bar (normal size) and have no problem whatsoever. FTR....Both have lost well over 100LBS each. Their eatting habits haven't changed much except for the amount. Their intake is about 1/10 of what they used to scarf down.
  3. This is somewhat what I have been needing to hear / read. Thank you so very much! I'm in envy of your personal stats!!
  4. Thank you for all the responces!
  5. Hello my name is Kimo. I have done everything Kaiser has asked of me, now I am just waiting to meet my surgeon on Jan. 10, 2012. Only been over weight for about 10 years and I'm tired of battling diets, etc.. The sleeve is my choice because bypass has potentiel for ulcers and malnutrition. Having had surgically repaired ulcer/s I am in now looking to do something that can cause more. Ulcers, bleeding are no joke!! No disrespect towards anyone who has or will have bypass. It's just not for me. I do have one question that I seem to be finding hard to get a solid answer to. What are the Vitamin requirements Pre & Postsurgery? Does anyone have or know of a broken down list of what to take and when to take? Yes, I know, I should already know this, but I got side tracked with wanting the Bypass surgery. I fully understand how to do and what to do for the Bypass. Any help and or comment could and would be helpful. Lastly, Is anyone out there living in the Antelope Valley, CA. area or near by who's interested in support giving and getting??? Thanks to whomever reads and or responds. KM
