  1. Thanks everyone! I'm going back to my GP tomorrow hoping she will send letters and continue to try to convince my insurance I need this surgery. If not let the saving begin!!
  2. Today I was denied for lap band by insurance bc I haven't had either blood pressure, diabetes, or sleep apnea for 3 years ( I am very discouraged now. My BMI is above 40 and I was told that I could do it as a "self-pay" can anyone tell me around how much it cost? Thanks
  3. I am new and also considering the lap band. I would appreciate some feedback as what to expect and are you happy with your decision. I am 30 yrs old, my BMI is 39.2 and I'm insulin resistant, with shortness of breath episodes. So I'm not sure if I would qualify for the surgery.
  4. I am also going to my first appointment/seminar next week. I am really curious about getting insurance to approve me, a co-worker had the surgery and the insurance covered them. My BMI is 39.2
