I will be having surgery in July also, but don't have a date yet. I live in northern MI but surgery in Grand Rapids at St Mary's.

My BMI is over 50. I was denied because I have no health problems. I have appealed but haven't heard back yet.

Medicaid. Yes I'm going to appeal.

They will be sending a letter the details. I will appeal their decision.

Mine hang low, how do the doctors keep them out of the way. Sling them back with a bungie cord?

My documentation was supposed to have been sent to ins on Dec 18, but wasn't sent in until today. So frustrated! Hoping for surgery in Feb.

I had my last test today. Now they can submit everything to the ins co. Hoping for Jan. date.

How much were you allowed to lift after surgery and how long did the restriction last?

Has anyone had WLS at McLaren hospital by Dr Baker or Dr Nagle? How is their aftercare?

I went to a seminar a few weeks ago and a consult today. The doctor told me the band has a high fail rate and 5 years out most regain all their weight. She said I should consider getting the gastric sleeve. The band sounds safer to me. The surgery will be in Petoskey.
